Some dinner We went to have our anniversary dinner here. We started with a cocktail and then ordered our food. We waited and ordered another round of drinks and bread. 1 hour went by with NO dinner. There were about 20 tables and only 3 or 4 tables taken, with 2 waitresses. Everyone else had their food before us, including the 2 tables of people that came in after us. The service was terrible. That really destroyed our night out. We've been there many times. It's too bad we have to tell all our friends about this. They go there a lot. It's seems to me that you might try a little harder for the prices you get. Very unhappy custumers [15 May 2000 20:32:47]

Excellence at its finest Sunday, 9/25/2005 our family had a wedding shower at the restaurant. The variety and quality of food was superb. The waitstaff was pleasant, courteous, neat and made sure all the guests were comfortable. The ambience was perfect. The new owners, David and Angela Tolly even came in our room to make sure everything was fine. We have had many family gatherings prior to this one and will continue to do so. We highly recommend this restaurant. Best wishes to the new owners. [26 Sep 2005 11:14:41]

What a great restaurant The atmosphere is rustic but the food is not at this former 1757 stagecoach stop. The wood beams and cozy fireplace provide the perfect setting for extremely well-prepared steak and seafood dishes. The Avon Old Farms Inn is a great romantic night out in an incredibly cozy, dimly lit setting. And the food certainly matches the atmosphere. One of New England's great restaurants, an overall grand experience. [14 Apr 2006 00:39:08]

Nightmare Easter Brunch 07 Despite reservation, 1 1/4 hour wait, unset dirty tables, our large party was put at 2 round tables. Took 20 minutes for water, never received Mimosas, coffee was cold by the time they served milk (in a drinking glass). Server at carving station apologized for having a dull knife. 2 trips to the the buffet yielded no plates, little food, long lines at omelette station.
Wait staff tried but were stretched too thin. If it wasn't Easter, we would have walked out. [15 Apr 2007 22:16:01]

Overpriced Prices have increased over what's listed on the internet, but food quality has decreased. The crabcakes were soggy and a bit fishy, the salad overdressed, the fish overcooked, the rolls boring, plus, the dining room was chilly. And, even though listed, they are not accepting the Entertainment card. What a disappointment. It's not as good as before the "new management." [26 Oct 2007 21:25:59]
