will never go there again We went to the Hawthorne Inn Restaurant on Sept. 22 for the twin lobster special, which was priced at $23.95, $6.00 extra for baked stuffed. My husband ordered the crock of onion soup and my daughter and I ordered crocks of clam chowder. The onion soup did not have one piece of onion in it and the clam chowder was very thick with flour and very few tiny pieces of clam. We asked to see the manager, who said that as far as her taste was concerned, the soups were fine. She said she would have the chef put onions in the onion soup, and, as far as her taste was concerned, the clam chowder was fine. We then got our "baked" stuffed lobsters, which did not look "baked" to us--merely covered with stuffing. There was probably about two tablespoons of lobster meat in each lobster, which was outrageous for the price of $29.95 for each of three dinners. In as much as our complaint about our soups did not help, we just decided that our complaints would be in vain. We will never, ever, go back to the Hawthorne again. [26 Sep 2007 18:07:15]
