Poor Service Shortly After Opening My husband and I recently stopped in for breakfast. The only good thing I can say is that we were seated almost immediately. Our server was not friendly or attentive. We placed our order and it took a long time before the food came out. People who had been seated after us received their food before us. When we finally got our food it was stone cold. The prices seemed high too. I will not be going back. [06 Jun 2007 12:35:15]

Poor Service - Evening It has been long enough for your Waite staff @ night to get it right!. No silverware - had to ask for it - no straws given with juice - extra napkins asked 2 people muliple times - food cold sent back for reheat - dirty dishes left on table too long. One young man was getting off work and let us know he was not on shift, however he escorted another guest to a table and said thank GOD he was off - We were there @ approximatley 8:45p.m. - I'm sure you can tell who this person is - probably talks like this all the time. We don't have time to teach your people(etiquette) when we're the one paying for food. I can tell you if this keeps up you're not going to have a lot of local people coming back. The food is good - the service is terrible! When will the service staff be trained? [10 Jul 2007 22:28:07]

Poor in General Stopped into IHOP in Bloomfield on a Sunday afternoon. This was my first visit to this particular location. It took 3 people about 10 minutes to review a seating chart in order to seat me at a table and the ironic thing is the place was virtually empty. While waiting to be seated, a disgruntled customer walked by and told the same three staff members to tell the waitress "never mind bringing the food". I was finally seated near the kitchen area and got a good view of some of the staff members coming and going...apron strings untied, sagging pants and just folks meandering as if they had absolutely nothing to do but play around with each other....my thought at that point was "where is the manager on duty?"..I must say a delightful young man came over to my table and took my order. He brought the salad first and placed in on the table, no mat, no utensils and a small plate overflowing with salad greens and dressing. I had to ask for utensils and I was handed a single fork which I promptly sent back because it was dirty. The main course of steak and the other items were fine. I paid my bill and left the restaurant vowing never to return. I am very easy to please but I was really turned off by the overall atmosphere of this particular IHOP..improvement greatly needed, staff is young and need some serious training..and of course let's not forget to train the managers.
