A very happy surprise
We were tipped off to Ralph 'n Rich's by a local Bridgeport police officer. We were meeting some old friends in an unfamiliar city and we wanted to take them out to dinner to a nice place "the sort of place to go after a graduation" was how I described my goal to the officer.
The menu offered excellent choices for both my wife and myself (serious foodies) as well as our less-bold guests.
For purposes of documentation, we had two Chicken Piccata, a Veal Marsala, and some sort of Parmigiana across the table from me. I had two antipasto dishes, a seafood antipasto and a more traditional one, both surprisingly excellent.
We started the evening with a Prosecco for a toast to old friends. That was followed by three glasses of Querceto Chianti.
We wrapped up with a Tiramisu and some sort of rum cake, and three cups of coffee for your humble correspondent preparatory for my drive back to Boston.
The service was excellent.
