What R u waiting Pho?
Pho 501 is the best resterant I have ever been to. I'm Vietnamses so going to a Vietnamse restaurant was awesome for me because they're aren't too many Vietnamese restaurants out here. The place is small and simple, has 9 tables, its got a TV so you could watch football or whatever and its got chop sticks, spoons, forks, napkins and sauce. As for the food...whoa it was muy bueno I mean I've tasted Pho before and this one was different. You could see that the chef is a genius when it comes to Pho as to me it just beats all other soups. I don't know what he did to make the soup so good but hey I have to thank him for such an excellent dish of meat/shrimp and noodles with broth topped with vegetables. Sounds simple, but its so GREAT. You could put assorted items to enchanced the soup like there's: spicy sauce and sweet sauce. Also there's soy sauce, you could add bean sprouts and other vegetables, If you're a spicy person you could put in all the peppers you want. There's different soups/dishes in this cozy restaurant too. On Saturdays you could have hot and spicy soup or Bun and on Sundays you could have Mi ga( yellow noodle with chickens) On week days you could have Pho and Ban Coun or stem rolls and they're all soOo oO good. The drinks are special too. They got Vietnamese coffee to wake you up, they got soybean milk which is better than you think, they got tea/ice tea and sodas. All and all every thing was great, The service was good it was very straight foward and simple and sometimes the owners kids work at the restaurant. I know this because he was my waiter. In conclusion I hope you find this review helpful in your search for good food.

Disgusting Service, Average Food
Pho 501 is a terrible place to dine! The restaurant is bare, boring to look at, and just plain dirty. The waiters are rude and the food is average. Actually, the poor atmosphere makes the food seem even worse! Being Vietnamese and knowing what should be expected when dining out, I would never recommend this place to anyone! Try a real Vietnamese restaurant with REAL food and service. Trust me, I've had better.    [19 Dec 2005 16:16:34]

Well, some mixed reviews.
I have never eaten within the restaurant, but during the colder months I get takeout sometimes 2 times a week. They are very fast and the soup is just amazing. I have tried other Vietnamese places around here and none of them compare in taste. When I eat this soup it is like there is a party in my mouth!    [13 Apr 2006 12:38:18]

Wow, I think that first review was written by the owner...

In reality: The soup is good, offering a choice of chicken, beef, or shrimp in their signature pho. Good and fast, but their can be a wait for a seat at lunch peak. The facility itself is nothing special, but won't surprise you negatively if you've been to any other small family-run Vietnamese soup place. Service can be a bit abrupt, but again, about what I expect from this genre. Not a place for a first date ;) but good food and o.k. value anyway.    [09 Feb 2007 12:32:34]

While this place isn't known for their service or ambience, the most important and best feature of this restaurant is their pho. It's hands down the best pho I've had. Highly recommended and very affordable.    [05 Sep 2007 23:36:12]
