A Taste of China in Greewich, CT. Although Hunan Gourmet, in Greenwich, CT, has many familiar menu Chinese items, such as General Tso's Chicken, Moo Goo Gai Pan and several types of Lo Mein (to only list a few), the food is far from ordinary. This restaurant cares about their food as much as they care about their customers. There is a reason this family-owned establishment they has lasted over 20 years in the same location. Everything they offer on their menu is delicious and the service rates up there with the best restaurants. Every effort is made to make your dining experience one to keep you coming back. But if you're in the mood for dining in, they offer take-out and delivery. I highly recommend this restaurant. [30 Jun 2003 14:17:37]

Comment on Take Out The food is excellent - no doubt about it. A few gripes in the takeout dept. though.
1) You get short changed in the mu-shu pancakes - only 2 for a whole order? 4 should be minimum.
2) Crispy noodles never included unless you ask, and then they charge you for them. Lame.
3) They never give you chopsticks or enough soy sauce unless you make a point of asking.
4) I don't find the counter takeout service vey friendly, and I go there A LOT so this is not based on a single try. I feel in the customer service business, you need to always be not just polite, but cordial and do your service with a smile at all times. Sometimes they are rude.
Don't know if HG will see this, but as a frequent customer, I think they would do well to improve in these areas of their business, to match the quality of the dining in experience. [18 Mar 2004 12:34:35]

Upscale Chinese Hunan Gourmet in Greenwich, Connecticut recently received a mild face lift. New chairs, carpet and painting have made this already nice restaurant, nicer. We come to Hunan Gourmet almost once a week and are always pleased with the very consistant food and service. Even for take-out I have never had a problem. Take-out is very quick although if you have something delivered on the weekends it could take awhile. Tip: If dining in on the weekends make a reservation. This restaurant gets very crowded. On my last visit we saw Regis dining right next to us. Great wine list. [14 Nov 2005 15:02:47]
