One of the two best Vietnamese Restaurants in the State!
Pho Tuong Lai specializes in fresh, heart aromatic soups- Pho- the famous beef noodle soup, spicy noodle soup- featured on Friday nights and Saturdays and lastly, but not least- the chicken noodle soup- on Sundays! You have to come early on Sundays to get a bowl of the chicken noodle. Many of our customers go across the street to catch a movie at the Crown Theater. My mom (yes, the chef is my mom) also specializes in goi cuon (fresh spring rolls that you dip into fresh peanut sauce- a secret recipe of hers!), egg rolls, shrimp rolls and many other sauteed dishes- everything is made fresh to order! Even if you're a vegetarian- we have fresh veggies and tofu to satisfy your taste buds!    [22 Feb 2006 12:53:08]

My Favorite Restaraunt
I've been going to this restaraunt basically every Sunday for roughtly 3 years and it's definetly one of my favorite restaraunts. Everyone is friendly and there's a definite casual, unpretentious ambience to it.    [21 Jul 2006 10:53:05]

I miss Pho Tuong Lai!
I used to live next door to this place at it's old location in West Hartford. I would literally eat there at least 1-2 times a week with my ex. The waitress, owner's daughter, was always so friendly and informative when we had questions about the menu. I moved away to Bridgeport, and don; get to visit Hartford often, but when I do, I make sure I stop at my favorite place to eat!

By the way, I have eaten Pho at numerous restaurants in and out of CT and nothing compares!
