Excellent American Fare The pub was hopping on the Friday evening that we were there, and the comfortable dining room was filled with patrons who all seem to know each other. The American cuisine is excellent, we started with wonderfully fresh mussels done to perfection in a light cream sauce with shallots and a hint of bacon. The Sole Francaise has the lightest batter and fried just right to retain moisture. The King-Size Rib Roast was just that, a big slab of medium-rare beef in natural juice and tasty vegetables. A wonderful meal in a beautiful country setting. [10 Jul 2007 23:03:53]

we want our money back For a family that used to frequent The Village,we were used to the crowd and knew a reservation on any night was a must, but this past fall of 2007,the food became a reason to not visit. In less than six months, the cuisine became quite unpleasant. Overspiced, underspiced, overcooked, undercooked, they just couldn't get it right. What happened to their chef? Not one item out of the kitchen lived up to it's past meals.Bye-Bye Village.
