Steamed Cheesburgers Rock Farrell's is practically an institution in Portland. The bar is a local favorite and the restaurant has a constantly changing menu. We often stop in for a bite and are usually satisfied with what we try. Last night was no exception, we ordered the steamed cheeseburger loaded, with no roll and switched the fries for the steamed veggies. The burgers were wonderful and the steamed veggies, a medly of yellow and green squash, broccoli and red onions, were perfect. What wasn't perfect was the amount of time it took for us to receive our food, over 30 minutes, and the place was empty and the fact that we had to ask for the loaded part of our burgers, they came quite naked. I give allowance for the fact that our waitress was new but still unless you need to kill the cow, 30 minutes for a burger is excessive. The problem here seems to be constantly turning over new help. I highly recommend this restaurant for their unfailing attempts at culinary mastery but if your in a hurry you will need to look elsewhere. [13 Sep 2005 15:57:45]

Farrells is AWESOME! I highly recommend Farrells and completely disagree with the statement that they are slow. We go there often, sometimes for a quick meal, the Philly Cheese Steak and Roast Beef Dip are terrific. We can get in and out in less than an hour. The regular entrees may take a few minutes longer but are worth the wait. The service is always friendly, helpful and polite. They make you feel welcome. This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have not had a bad meal at Farrells. [28 Oct 2005 11:12:13]
