the best service anywhere! The best service and the best ribs! Not only in the state of Connecticut either. They also make 2 delicious sandwiches with meat pulled right off the bone! All the other sandwiches are amazing too. The chef is so entirely talented, he could put anything on a plate and I would eat it all. His nightly specials are so unparalleled, you wonder why they're not permanent dishes too. Lunch is especially wonderful, although it does not include many of the fabulous dinner entrees, the lunch chef is also amazing. His soups of the day are to die for, no matter how strange it sounds, I urge you to try it. It's also a better atmosphere at lunch, much quieter. [27 Sep 2001 16:58:07]

Outstanding During a recent stay in Connecticut, I dined at Brannigan's on 3 occasions. The ribs were outstanding, as described-- falling-off-the-bones tender, juicy and very flavorful The full rack is a formidable plate. I can also vouch for the ribeye, which was very juicy, tender and flavorful. On yet another evening, I tried a grilled fish, which was splendid as well. All 3 times I sat upstairs at the bar in the pub-- very friendly atmosphere and delightfully attentive service by the bar staff. A wonderful experience all around. [22 Jul 2006 14:44:54]

Brannigans reopens!! I know they were closed for awhile. They reopened and I was told the rib recipe was exactly the same...handed down from the founding fathers. Needless to say, the legend continues. Awesome fall-off-the-bone delicious in a cool sports atmosphere!! [27 Jul 2007 23:39:44]

A Disappointment When you walk into a restaurant and the customers at one of the 2 occupied tables are asking where their food is it can't be a good thing.
Service was slow, food was lukewarm. The "best ribs in the state" were nothing special, no better than at Chili's down the street, which is where we should have gone. [21 Dec 2007 08:10:13]
