NYC on the shoreline
I had as much fun lounging in their plush dining room as picking from their menus. Very New York and very good. Beats the heck out of the fish/chip places on the shoreline and a lot less stuffy than the fine dining in the area.    [28 Aug 2005 16:42:15]

Tapas on the patio
Great food. Great ambience and a really fun place where you 'can't' hear the conversation next to you because of the jazzy lounge music and everyone's having a great time. Tough to get into the dining room on a weekend, but I prefer the patio and parking my keyster on the couches. Tapas + Couches + Acid jazz + martinis... I may never go to another place again.

I had the moquecka (Spelling?) a Brazillian fish stew - out of this world.    [29 Aug 2005 11:11:09]

Smooth
First timer. I really enjoyed the meal and loved the dining room. I'm a Boston gal and it was great to see the Hancock and other Boston buildings on the walls. Dessert was so fabulous I tried two.    [10 Sep 2005 09:33:14]

Delectable!
My wife and I finally tried this place after a crazy summer in Clinton. The fries (who doesn't like fries!) and the Halibut entree was out of this world! We'll be in there more frequently.    [15 Sep 2005 09:10:56]

I've found my hangout
Not your typical 'suburbs' place. I agree fully with all other reviews. This place is dynamite. Not stuffy for such great food and lots of great background music and super comfy. I'll drive the 15 minutes from Guilford to Westbrook and I'll do it every weekend    [02 Dec 2005 18:59:16]

Wow
Intimate dining room, laid back atmosphere, great background music, we went for dinner and felt like we had a 'night out'. Next time we'll drag our fun neighbors. Although it's great for a romantic, intimate dinner - there were too many larger parties having toooooo good of time around us.
Parking was a bit nuts though.    [06 Mar 2006 10:16:14]

Park where you can
There are no rules when it comes to parking here. Although I usually park at post office and stroll down with my wife. If there's a spot on the grass in front, I'll grab it. Why all this talk about parking? well, because the secret is out. Jeff has the best food around and his innovative menus keep me coming back every week. Although it's a bit easy for my wife and I to eat on a Tuesday rather than elbowing some young couple off a bar seat on a Friday. We're so happy for Jeff. To watch how his following has grown.    [07 Apr 2006 10:54:25]

affordable wine list
How many times do you go to a great foodie place and get a great bottle at value? Eclectic menus change often, but that keeps things fresh for us. We love everything a la carte from the tapas menu in the lounge to the diverse wine list to Nancy's amazing desserts. Our food experience is always great and we love that it changes eveytime we're there.    [29 Dec 2006 04:16:59]

off the radar dining gem
We literally stumbled upon this place. We just moved to Connecticut and have been driving up and down route one testing places out. After three months of swings and misses, we passed Cafe Routier and stopped because the lot was PACKED. We managed to get a couple seats in the lounge (Which BTW is so new york) and had a few small plates. Since then we've been back three times and have tried the dining room and have genuine applause for the chef. And we are pleasantly surprised that the menu changes often. The first two visits we had the New England and Martha's Vineyard menu, now they are in the Savoie region. We're keep coming back to enjoy this gem.    [16 Jan 2007 13:52:41]

consistent
Always good, always changing. Nearly every visit, the menu changes; Brazil, Fruli, Savoie, Pacific Northwest, Cap Cod, Basque, New York City steakhouse, etc. It's so refreshing to goto a place you enjoy and have the food change.    [12 Feb 2007 21:51:23]
