CT Mag: Da Pietro - Connecticut Magazine, 1998 09; This small storefront restaurant with serious prices, little elbow room and nothing in the way of a theme, gimmick or drop–dead decor has been wait–listing weekend reservations and routinely serving a full house six days a week for 10 years. This in trend–chasing Westport, which loves new restaurants to death only to cavalierly desert them for the next newcomer. - suggest change

Excellent My time at Da Pietro's was one of the most phenomenal eating experiences I've ever had. The food and the service was incredible, and Da Pietro seems to really love what he does. He keeps a constant flow of suprises - one appetizer that particularly stands out was the homemade, spinach-stuffed ravioli he served - it was beyond incredible. The beef was aged and cooked to perfection. . .it was tender enough I could cut it with my fork.
The place only seats about 20-22, which allows the chef to pay personal attention to every dish served. The place is a bit cramped, but it's more than made up for by everything else. [14 Jun 2001 22:35:41]

Amazing My husband took me to Da Pietro for my birthday and all I can say is the food was amazing, having lived and worked in NYC for many years I have been to many of the top restaurants (Le Cirque, 21 Club, Bouley) and Da Pietro is far better than many - bravo!
Do not pass on the risotto w/black truffles - it's worth every $. [03 Feb 2004 14:05:01]

Wonderful Experience! I was there on a slow day, the day after labor day weekend with my parents. My father is a very enthusiastic Italian cook and asked if he could see the kitchen. A few minutes later, tiny kitchen, he came out with the chef/owner who could not have been nicer. We saw his family pictures and talked for about 15 minutes. The food is excellent, but the experience of this small passion filled restaurant, is the real treat. [23 Sep 2005 01:10:13]

Superb Food ... ...but be prepared to hear every word from the folks sitting around you as the restaurant is truly tiny. If you like privacy of conversation and intimacy, this is not the place for you. However, if phenomenal food is what you are after, Da Pietros is hard to beat. [14 Sep 2007 12:14:15]
