I read a review of Agua Ardiente in the On Tap newspaper for July/August and have been dying for some Latin/Spanish food since I just came home from Spain. A good friend and I reserved a table for 8:30 Friday night and arrived to be quickly seated in a beautiful, richly decorated dining room. Our server, Rosa, was wonderful, offering suggestions, commenting on her favorite dishes and drinks, just generally being the ideal waitress. Our dinner and dessert was lovely, a great Latin experience!    [24 Aug 2003 16:42:51]

My friends and I had the pleasure of dinning at this lovely restaurant not too long ago. The food was fresh and tasty. We had a nice mix. The service was great. After diner we sat in the lounge area and listened to a local band that played world music. It was a fantastic evening. I highly recommend it!    [25 Aug 2003 19:14:56]

A difficult Act to follow
My date & I did not expect such a rewarding experience. Highly recommend the Mojito (at least three) and some Chifles.    [15 Sep 2003 12:09:25]

I have had 3 of my friends birthday parties at this place and each time we dine there it is a true treat. I love everything about the place. GREAT service and a true best kept secret of DC    [25 Sep 2003 15:32:25]

New Years at Agua Ardiente
This is an extremely poor choice for a restraint to support. Our party of 15 reserved a room at Agua Ardiente to celebrate the 2004 New Year.....here is a complete list of problems:
1. Contract for reservations was not followed: As stated is our agreement our commitment should have included Sangria...this was not served.
2. One hour to place orders...another hour to receive first course.
3. Food was poorly cooked. Steaks were not served as ordered. All steaks were cooked as medium...several individuals ordered steaks well done.
4. Several of the service staff were rather rude when questioned concerning the delay on food service.
5. Butter knives were provided with steaks.
6. Desert was served at 12:20...twenty minutes after the New Year.
7. Our party was overcharged $1000...which was later credited back.
8. Agua Ardiente lost three of our party's charge cards.

New Year's celebrations are a very busy time for these facilities...I understand sometimes quality can suffer due to the number of individuals being catered to...however the experience at this restraint was so incredibly poor and the management was not at all sympathetic to the many mistakes made that I was motivated to write this review warning the general dining public.    [13 Feb 2004 09:04:45]

Wouldn't go back in a hurry
Tasty food - I had the salmon, corn & lentils - but weight watcher portions. Not worth it for the price.    [16 Apr 2004 16:15:01]
