Description
The biggest attraction of this neighborhood cantina is the outdoor deck, affording a view of Connecticut Avenue in warm weather. Primarily a neighborhood draw, Alero attracts the local families and the young, career-oriented, and frugal.

good stuff I live locally and go probably once or twice a month. The food is reliable, the staff friendly. The deck is certainly a big attraction. [20 Apr 2001 14:47:00]

Best margaritas in town I live in Baltimore and twice a month I come over just for the Alero margaritas and fajitas; they are really good. I saw new items on the menu, really tempting. [05 Mar 2004 11:32:13]

Best Mexican food I ever had I've tried many Mexican restaurants in the DC area...many up to 4 times. Of them all, Alero in Cleveland Park and DuPont Circle are by far the best food. The margaritas really are the best in town...maybe anywhere. Try the fajita, quesadilla, or enchalada and just enjoy like you have never enjoyed before. [29 Apr 2004 23:50:34]

Terrible Food Alero's food has no FLAVOR. I think it is a disgrace to true authentic Mexican food. The food was pretty cheap, but it didn't taste like ANYTHING. [07 Jun 2004 15:37:19]

YOU MUST GO HERE FOR THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD I am always astounded at how good it is. Alero has no equal. Consistently superior to all other Mexican restaurants. Food here is beyond the quality of all other Mexican restaurants. The flavors, colors and textures max out the top of the excellence scale. You are guaranteed the best Mexican food you've ever eaten. Margaritas are also unrivaled. This is the only Mexican restaurant to consider. Worth traveling long distances for. I return again and again only because it is so much better than all the others. The best Mexican food and Margaritas in town I live locally and go to Alero at least twice a month for the excillent margaritas and fajitas. In the summer it's really pleasant to just sit outside on the deck and enjoy a relaxing meal. The staff are extremely friendly and provide great service. I would not consider going to any other Mexican restaurant in the DC area. [29 May 2005 00:35:21]
