It was awful! Breads were as hard as croutons. What happened to the great goat cheese salad they used to have? Mine was plain and boring, served first without dressing and then with a vinegarette that did nothing for the greens. My lunch partner's spicy chicken taco salad looked like its lettuce was a day from being thrown down the garbage disposal. Presentation of all food was terrible! Only dessert was worth eating! The most DISGUSTING meal I've ever had We were unfortunate enough to try this restaurant. I had the half chicken dinner which should have read half a tiny malnurished 'chick' dinner. The fries were cold, the cooked vegetables were raw and cold and the service was deplorable, the waiter arrogant. Despite our complaints, nothing was done and we left with a bad taste in our mouth. We would not recommend this place to anyone after this awful experience. Thank goodness not all Washington restaurants are like that, though it did make us pretty wary. [16 Apr 2004 22:32:02]

If You Are Passing Through, Keep Walking We ate here because we were too tired to find a place outside Union Station and we wanted something better than fast food. My friend ordered a Caesar salad, I ordered a lump crab salad in an avocado half and the stuffed pasta shells. The crab salad was tasty, the avocado was perfect, but the shells looked like they had dried out (or perhaps even a touch of freezer burn?). The ratatouille sauce over the shells left a bit to be desired, but it wasn't worth the effort to try to call the waiter back to change it. Bread? We couldn't get any. My friend decided to pass on dessert; it was too hard to get the service. The meal didn't set well, and by the time I got back to the hotel, I knew I was going to be sick. Nothing like a little food poisoning when you are away from home and sharing a hotel room! We would have been better off stopping at the McDonald's across from the hotel. The restaurant has a great location for people watching, but I recommend that you have only a beer or two. Had I been able to read the reviews, I would have kept on walking. [05 Jun 2004 21:16:00]

Unimpressed!! For the money they charge you to eat there...I was very unimpressed. The service was worse than the food, I may add. I'm a young college student and I used to be a server at Cracker Barrel, which is much much lower class, but I could give 10 times better service than our waitress could. She barely ever checked to see if anything was okay. I didn't get a refill for at least 15 minutes, and to me you shouldn't have to wait more than 1 minute. I asked for fresh bread since I was with a party of 8 and she said she would bring out a basket with the meal, even after reminding her two times...the bread never came. My plate was presented so sloppy I almost didn't even want to eat it. You could tell there was dripping from something else that I wasnt even eating on the border of the plate...or maybe even the plate was dirty from a previous dish. All I have to say: if you are looking for fine dinning...that is not the place to go. I had the Red, White, and Blue Enchiladas [26 Jul 2004 09:11:55]
