Mauricio Fraga-Rosenfeld is of Latino and Indian ancestry, and created Chi-Cha Lounge to reflect the spirit of his grandfather's hacienda.

The cuisine is in the style of modern Andean: simple and fresh "small plates."

The atmosphere is casual; ties are not permitted.

Chi-Cha Lounge might be the only place in the District to offer patrons their own hookah pipe, filled with the sweet or spicy tobacco of their choice.
