Bland, overpriced diner
I had dinner here last night with my girlfriend. This is a drab diner in a questionable area of town. She had flank steak ($24) and I had meatloaf ($18). The portions were tiny and devoid of any seasoning. A frozen dinner has more flavor. With wine, this mistake set me back $85. It wasn't worth half that price. Don't waste your time.    [18 Jan 2007 09:35:56]

Go for breakfast/brunch
The only reason to go is for breakfast brunch. Best eggs benedict in the city, and their homemade donuts are amazing as well.

Questionable area? I think the "dcnative" above is prob from VA.    [30 Jun 2007 07:40:51]

Home Cooking You Can't Cook at Home
One of the best pork chops I've ever had. Juicy, perfectly cooked. I picked up the bone to make sure I didn't leave a drop behind.

It might not be the fanciest restaurant, the best ambiance or the most creative menu, but they know how to cook the food they serve. I'll take good home cooking any day over the mediocre food you get at many DC restaurants where chefs try to by more creative than their talent supports.

The night we went, the meatloaf du jour seemed a bit odd. When my friend asked, the server pushed her towards another dish. I always take it as a good sign when the servers recognize the menu's weaknesses.    [03 Sep 2007 00:27:32]
