Lounge 201 is a Senate-side, upscale martini lounge run by Matt Weiss, the proprietor of the Red River Grill.

Menu selections include appetizers, salads, burgers, flatbread pizzas, sandwiches and desserts.

Lounge 201 is primarily a martini bar, and the kitchen closes promptly at 11 pm.

Finally upscale without attitude!
Capitol Hill is known for beer pubs which are great for those who want to go out for a great time but are also on a limited income. Lounge 201 is an upscale martini lounge catering to those of us who are looking for a more sophisticated going-out expereince, but don't want the attiude or the schlep to downtown or the hotel bar scene. The staff is courteous and fun, the martinis are as good as it gets in this city, and the food - while a limited menu - makes a nice light dinner. The back room is elegent and perfect for the private events, which it is often in use for - and can be annoying that you don't know ahead of time that an event is taking place. Otherwise this is a long overdue and welcome adition to the Capitol Hill bar scene.    [20 Oct 2003 20:44:32]
