I am from Utah, and I came to D.C. to visit a friend for the weekend. He brought me to M&S Grill for dinner, and everything was wonderful! We had the coconut shrimp, which was delicious; prime rib, also wonderful, but the best part was the dessert. We shared the apple pie. I don't remember the exact name, but it was the best I have ever eaten!! I would love the recipe! I can't wait until I can visit again, I will definataly eat at M&S Grill again!    [26 Apr 2003 12:33:22]

What a tasty treat
A friend visiting from Orlando took 3 ladies to lunch. We had the spinach dip with and without the crab, the coconut
shrimp (excellent) and the chicken parmesean. Everything was more than delicious. We topped everything off with cheesecake and upside down apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. That ice cream was perfect with that pie. The
service was superb. What a nice surprise. Hope to return real soon.    [30 Apr 2003 13:29:45]

fourth of july
To be in DC on the fourth of July is to be without a place to park or eat. Thank god for the M&S Grill. The prime rib was just what I needed after a day of drinking in the sun. The service was fast, the meals were huge and the atmosphere was outstanding.    [29 Sep 2003 17:21:54]

The High Price of Mediocrity
M&S is typical of many Washington high volume establishments catering to an out-of-town expense account crowd with "forgiving" tastes. It was my second visit; you'd think I would have learned from the first visit, which featured "off" fish and an overcooked steak. My second and most recent dinner was frought with frustrations related to service. The appetizer course was completely forgotten by our indifferent waiter, who blamed it on the server. Drinks, then, arrived coincidental with the serving of the main course. Many apologies ensued, but by then, it was a thorougly compromised dining experience. As for food quality, it was at best, ordinary. There are many good restaurants in Washington. This isn't one of them. My advice is pass.    [24 Feb 2004 17:29:52]

comfortable & delicious
I love the M&S Grill because it is a comfortable place with nice service and very good food. Not fancy food just good food. I have dreams about the prime rib. We go there every time we are in DC for a show at the Warner Theater, valet park at M&S Grill and go tot he show, what a deal!    [21 Aug 2005 15:54:47]

My friend and I picked this restaurant off the Internet because we were looking for a place easy for her to reach by Metro and for me to drive to from Annapolis. We were not disappointed. There was a Metro stop only a block away, and I drove directly to 600 F St where the valet driver took my car (it only cost $5). It's an attractive restaurant, and the food was great. We both ordered the salmon and were very pleased with it. We shared a dessert - apple pie with cinnamon ice cream. It was delicious! Our waiter was attentive but unobtrusive since we told him we hadn't seen each other in a while and wanted to visit. We both agreed we would want to go back there again.    [26 Aug 2005 15:51:25]
