It's easy to fall in love with a place like Paolo's.... - AOL City Guide; Overview and User Reviews - suggest change

Unforgettable I've never minded waiting for a table at Paolo's...the wait has never been overlong...the bartenders there make the best Cosmos in DC.
Every meal starts with complementary breadsticks served with must be the world's best tapanade; if they bottled it, I'd buy it by the case.
Appetizers are consistantly excellent and large enough to serve as an entree...unfortunately, the entrees have declined in quality since the beginning of last summer.
Service is generally good; the servers are knowlegable about the menu and the day's features, but there is room for some improvement, ie.: fresh flatware with each course, remembering to pack half of your appetizer for take-home.
The ambiance is nice; Paolo's decor is very nice, but the noise level quite high. [24 Mar 2003 10:15:41]

Great date place I am very picky about restaurants, but Paolo's is at the top of my list for a great place to go on a date. The whole restaurant is very nicely decorated with wood and brass. There isn't a booming speaker right above your head, so you can have a nice conversation. The bar is nicely arranged so that you aren't in a direct line of foot traffic and the bartenders know not to interrupt a conversation to take your drink order. I also very much enjoyed dining there. The service was really good and the food was delicious. I had the white pizza which was a perfect combination of cheeses with a nice crisp crust. Plus in warm weather, they open up their doors all along the sides creating an almost European feel. Paolo's has been added to my list of places to revisit again and again. [04 Nov 2003 10:24:15]
