Description

R.F.D Washington serves American pub fare, combining fresh regional ingredients and local beers.

Appetizers include mussels marinière cooked in a dark lager, scallops on the half-shell with a lemon-beer aïoli, and Buffalo wings with a hot beer sauce. Entrées include beef carbonade made with Belgian Red Ale, chicken and artichoke hearts stewed in Anchor Steam Beer, and sausage stewed with dark lager. The burgers are seasoned with porter. Even the ice cream is made with a peach beer.

A Disgrace
I was waiting for my boyfriend to get into town from NYC. I ordered us both dinner "to go" and I had a beer while I waited. The food came right when he got there. Great!
We got to his friend's house. I had ordered the "Veggie Roast" sandwich. The girl at the bar taking the order said it had mushrooms and peppers, sprouts and other stuff on it. What I got was 2 pieces of pumperknickel bread (not warm or toasted) with spinach and two thick slices of cucumber. That was it. It was so disappointing and I was fuming.    [17 Feb 2004 10:55:16]
