Description

Rockland's is the home of the only wood-burning barbeque pit in DC. Mostly carry-out, there are 15 stools for folks out on the town. Their "wall of fire" contains more than 120 versions of hot sauce for patrons to try. Bring in a bottle of barbecue sauce that they don't sell, and get a free sandwich.

Best Barbeque I've Found
Rockland's has the best barbeque I have been able to find East of the Mississippi. Everything is great, and very affordable for a college student!    [06 May 2003 22:04:38]

Agree with the above comment, however prepare to spend $$
Half a rack of ribs is $10, a full rack is $20.

In the south, a full rack of ribs runs for $9.

It's definitely a great service, fresh, fast. Not much of a restuarant if you ask me, just a few tables to sit at after you get your food. But the food and people are very courteous.

Half a rack of ribs is all I can justify in a sitting money-wise, but it never quite fills me up.

Go figure. If you haven't been to Rocklands, it's definitely one of Washington's unique experiences. A must.    [25 Feb 2004 13:44:54]

Rocklands and our wedding
Rocklands prepared 1/2 the food for our wedding and the guests were VERY pleased. My family is from Texas and knows barbecue quite well and all were pleased. ALWAYS ask for extra sauce -- it is simply the best. Rumor has it their corn pudding can put you into a dreamlike state of ecstasy. Oh wait -- that's true!    [14 Sep 2004 21:59:26]
