Great Definately not corporate. Thank goodness there's a place to go that's a real coffeehouse. [16 Jan 2004 15:32:35]

Though they were non-corporate... I was happy to find a place to study and read that was laid back here in DC since I just moved here from NYC. I went in with a friend, a medical student, and he ordered breakfast, while I had a mocha. About ten minutes after my friend finished eating, and while I was still sipping the ends of my drink, the lady at the register, no doubt the owner, approached us and let us know "I am going to have to ask you to leave if you aren't going to order more food. You are taking up a lot of space in my restaraunt." A lot of space being half a table for 4 which we were sharing with 2 other gentlemen (strangers). After we let her know we had just ordered she said she was aware, and that that's how she manages her business- "just in case other PAYING customers come." So, we decided not to order another drink as we were just about to before she insulted us, and my friend complained after we packed our bags- and the owner insisted on defending herself by comparing her coffee shop to a doctors office and something about getting rid of "patients who don't pay." Basically, she is delusional, ruined our opinion of the cafe, and had the nerve to defend her greedy demands. Soho was less than so-so. Don't go unless you're ready to stuff your face and feed the owner's register. Oh- and they charge to use the bathroom! [13 Feb 2007 22:37:26]

A REAL COFFEEHOUSE
Soho is really great. It's very funky. Lots of windows and definately not corporate. I love it and it's open late every night. [23 Aug 2007 15:28:39]
