Our early August 2005 Dinner at Spezie was pretty good. Spezie provides fine Italian dining without becoming an overly stagy ordeal. The menu format follows the norm of restaurants in Italy, which feature Antipasti, Primi, Secondo, and Dolce courses, respectively.
*Spezie created excellent olive tapanade, veal ravioli with veal sauce, and tirimisu, however, its muscles with wine sauce and veal scallopini with rosemary sauce was only average.
*At times we felt rushed us because our appetizers and, later, our desert arrived within a minute of ordering them.
* The Spezie waitress, which had a genuine Italian accent, enhanced our meals by providing attentive service.
