Doesn't Get Any Better The whole package is delightful, but the food is the best, better than some great spots we've visited in NY. [07 Feb 2004 11:02:57]

The best Italian in DC! Fantastic food, atmosphere and service. From the time you walk in and are greeted by William, to the time the chef, Ignazio, makes his rounds to make sure all was well - the experience is out of this world. I have become a regular and suggest you do the same. [13 Mar 2004 11:44:21]

Mamma Mia What a delightful experience. Everything is fresh, fresh, fresh. The pasta dishes are succulent. Try the pizza with crab meat, it will melt in your mouth. The desserts are out of this world. The chef is both talented and friendly. I will keep going back to this Italian treasure again and again! [15 Oct 2004 11:55:02]

Absolute BEST Italian Restaurant in D.C. I've been going to Tesoro for years and it truly is a treasure. Take it from a very picky Italian from NJ, this place has everything. Excellent food, made with pride; the atmoshphere is friendly and warm with elegant surroundings. The owner and head chef Ignazio couldn't be more gracious and genuine in making your dining experience simply perfect. And William is so attentive and charming you'd think you're back in Italy. There is no better place to eat authentic Italian food in this area and it is moderately priced for D.C. You've got to try this place!!! [16 Nov 2004 19:12:48]

Authenticity at it's Finest! This food is real! Always very fresh and perfectly seasoned. From the minute you walk in the door, and are greeted by William to the time you eat and Chef Ignazio does his dining room rounds to make sure the food was perfect, the experience is amazing. There is always nice Italian background music on and you can wander over to the beautiful well stocked bar after your dinner for a nice snifter. Your trip to Tesoro will truly be memorable, it was for me. All I think about is the Frutti di Mare entree. Try for yourself and you'll never eat Italian anywhere else again. [12 Feb 2005 09:55:27]

A Warm and Memorable Experience I was in DC last week and found the restaurant to be warm and inviting. The manager/owner (?) William is really very nice. Truly exudes that Mediterranean Italian charm. Very sincere. The food was fantastico! [11 Mar 2005 12:11:57]

I have worked with hundreds of restaurants--this a perfect gem from the food, atmosphere to the music. Just a perfect gem. My compliments to the chef. [18 Jul 2005 16:13:11]

Food- A+, Service- B My wife and I dined at Tesoro's for the first time for our anniversary, and have since been back several times. The food is excellent, every time. The waiters are friendly and enagaging, but the service, while not bad, tends to be slow and not as attentive as it could be. Great ambiance and atmosphere as well. If you're not in a hurry, there's no place we'd recommend higher outside NYC. [02 Nov 2005 14:57:18]

The WORST Italian Food I've Ever Been Subjected To I was recently in D.C. and stayed at the Days Inn -- a HUGE mistake, equaled only by eating at Tesoro's. The caprese salad was laughable, the mozarella dry, the tomatoes unripe and tasteless, and the basil shriveled. The chicken parmagiana was so unspeakable, I abandoned my plate after four bites and had to go to a Subway sandwich shop to eat. I don't know if the people who wrote the positive reviews work for the restaurant, are lying, or have never had decent Italian food before, but I recommend you run past this place as fast as you can and never, ever look back.
