poor customer service My wife and I visited our local Applebees for lunch on 8-22-03. It was about 1 pm and the dining room was clearing out. there were approximately 3 other customer that had not recieved their food as of yet, other than us. It took damn near 40 minutes for our food. I am a former employee of Applebees, a cook to be exact. I know that what we order takes at longest 6-7 minutes to prepare. He ordered the CFC and I ordered the ckn broc alfr now I understand a 15-20 minute wait but over half an hour! Then when our food finally arrived the alfredo was dry!! I mean really dry as if there was no alfredo on there at all. I know there should be about 3oz alfredo and about 8oz noodles but I doubt that I had adequate amount of either. His CFC was okay though. Well other than the fact that he ordered no vegetables and mashers instead, he got veggies!! So not only did it take forever in the making it was wrong too. So, I politely asked for more alfredo explaining to the waitress that it was so dry and a side of mashers to correct the veggie problem blowing the problem off to understaffing or something, however, we never recieved the mashers and the additional alfredo cost me a dollar!! What? They didn't put 3 oz on to begin with, nor were there 8oz of noodles. I never got to speak to a manager and I never saw a manager. Are they not supposed to do table rounds anymore? I was horribly dissatisfied and I won't be back!!!! [04 Sep 2003 15:49:17]

Poorest Service in Town Went to Applebees on Broad Street in Sumter, SC. First confusion was two different waitresses assigned to table. Finally one waitress took drink order (1 beer, 1 wine) which took 10 minutes to fulfill. She thought we had already ordered and had to explain to her that we hadn't. Kept apologizing instead of getting order straight. Ordered food (specially advertised "Baby back ribs."). After 35 minutes asked what delay was. Think she forgot to put order in. Manager (or Asst. manager) confused and could hardly speak intelligently. He didn't seem particularly concerned about confused wait staff. Finally paid for drinks and walked out. Cannot rate food because WE WERE NEVER SERVED! Have been to other Applebees (NC, FL, VA.) and have never had such poor service. Suggest someone from Applebees management visit this location to get them straightened out. [07 May 2004 22:26:54]
