Top: United States: DE: Wilmington Description Japanese restaurant and sushi bar. Located in the back of Independence Mall, notable for the replica of Philadelphia's Independence Hall visible from Concord Pike. Inside however, it is a surprisingly large and nice place. The ambiance was nice but nothing really outstanding, it was really the details that made it special. On to the food: For sushi this is really the best place I have found in Delaware, it is probably the most expensive too. (But think about it – Do you ever go to sushi for a cheap meal?) The price is well worth it in terms of quality. For an appetizers we got Salmon Arazudaikon Maki – A weird salmon and radish combination. We were not all too thrilled with it. We would not order it again. Ika Wakame No Nuta – Squid in Miso Sauce With Seaweed. Tasty, try to eat the squid with only a little bit of seaweed. It was the most tender squid I have ever eaten. This we WILL order again, but it is only for the adventuresome. The Miso soup was average. Really nothing to write home about (although I would stab you with my spoon if you tried to take mine away) Then came the main course of lots of sushi. It was all wonderful save one roll we got. It was a roll that contained salmon (it might have been the Shogan roll) but they cooked the salmon. Sushi other than eel or shrimp should not be cooked. If you are going to stray from that guideline a warning label should be placed on the menu (in flaming red letters). Both me and my friend like wasabi and we got it. If you are not a fan of wasabi you should probably ask for less. Notes on the rice: The rice was a little softer than I have seen in the past without too strong of a flavor. I preferred it but it was a little challenging to eat with chopsticks. If you are looking to drop some cash for sushi so good that you just can’t help making yummy noises this the place to g [03 Mar 2000 13:55:38] Definitely The Best Sushi In The Area.
