Awful food Broiled grouper was tasteless and the consistency of rubber. Red snapper--the same. The peas had something seriously wrong with them. They had a strong odor and metallic taste.
The server was rude.
Needless to say, we will never return. [17 Feb 2002 21:12:40]

GREAT service and food I dont see how anyone could think that their food is horrible! I love it and I go to this restaurant about 4 nights a week. The seafood is delicious (especially the chowders) So is the rest of the food. I really recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great place to eat, an awesome place to see the sunset and a terrific waterfront view!(Shrimp is breaded and peeled on sight [14 Sep 2003 22:17:17]

Food is Great! The food here is really good. They've got delicious seafood like shrimp and grouper. They also have other foods like chicken strips and amazing burgers that will fill you up. I would recommend this resturant to anyone in the mood for a nice view and great food. [10 Apr 2004 15:05:12]

Old Timey Florida Fish House a Treat We happened upon this end-of-the line, antique wood-frame restaurant in a serendipitous way while driving to the end of Pine Island and the town of Bokeelia about a month ago. What a great find!! Not often does one get a chance to step back in time both visually and in mood, but Capt'n Con's Fish House evokes an era of slower-paced, down-home friendliness and simple, well-cooked food. The New England clam chowder was the best I've had since moving to Florida from Massachusetts 23 years ago and the super friendly waitress said the seafood chowder was even better. Our fried grouper lunch special (very reasonably priced) was super fresh, crispy and not greasy, delicious! Great informal, cozy atmosphere in a building with the charm only time can confer. Tomorrow, my husband and I will drive across the state from West Palm Beach with my 89-year-old mother just to have lunch there again and admire the scenic location. [11 May 2005 18:59:57]

Great place at the end of the road Out for a ride one day my wife and I somehow ended up at the North end of Stringfellow Road. Hungry, we stopped in Capt'n Con's and we were delighted.
The food, service and Ambiance were exemplary. We only wish there was outside dining available to complement the Harborside atmosphere. Hey, we're coming back today in fact for a late lunch with some friends we want to experience the place. [22 Feb 2006 11:50:46]

Take your appetite First time visitor to this restaurant in Sep 06 and ordered the usual fried grouper dinner. I was presented with 6 large pieces of grouper with fries and cole slaw. All this for $11?!? Crazy, but good. [24 Sep 2006 10:49:12]
