Ate there last week.. This place, folks, is what southern cooking is all about. A dying art, real fresh fried chicken, greens, black eyed peas, it's all here just the way mamma used to do it! Homemade cornbread, sweet tea and fresh fried eggplant that will melt in your mouth. It is truly as close to a religious experince as a Sunday meetin' in a back road Florida town. Overheard at the next table, "Is the baked chicken ready yet?" Waitress says well. yes. honey. to which the elderly gentleman looked skyward and exclaimed; "Praise the Lord!" We drive 30 miles out of the way home to eat there. The best home cookin' left in Fla. Amen! [09 Sep 2003 21:09:10]

If you're a down-homer, eat here. If you fancy yourself as a elite snob, you might not get this place. If you appreciate southern, down-home cooking, then get on over here and eat. I recommend a Monday night. Get the chicken livers, lima beans in ham gravy, collards, corn bread, fried tomatos and sweet tea. Top it off with banana cream pie. Talk to diners @ other tables, and you'll be doing it right. [20 Aug 2008 19:46:09]
