Not Consistant in Food
My husband and I used to go to the Clearwater Sam Seltzers almost once a week. We have brought a lot of guests there and also recommended people to go to the restaurant.

Even though we still go about once a week we are hoping the food will be good. We find the sevice and management are always nice ... but the food is not always good (not consistant.
My husband likes NY strip, but sometimes it is not done to his liking; he likes it moooing and it always comes to the table not rare enough. We like the prime rib but it is not always tender, flavor is great! The salmon was so dry I was choking thanks for the piece of lemon on the plate it saved my life.
The caesar salad with chicken was terrible, so mushy; I asked the server if the chicken is cooked than placed over the salad and she said yes...but when I got it it was cold and mushy.
I like the ribs , I have not had any problems with the ribs. I love the coconut shrimp but, sometimes it is good and sometimes it is terrible.

I used to manage a restaurant, so I learned not to send anything back. I guess I will keep on taking my chances because my husband always gets the steak and most of the time he is happy. He used to have the rack of lamb but they took it off of the menu, and no one knows why!

All restaurants have good and bad days so I will try again and if it is good I will go again the next week if not I will wait a month !
But, all in all Sams is still on top of our list to patronize.    [06 Aug 2006 15:27:15]

Quality Review
Here is the SKINNY from a qualified reviewer and you can take this to the bank. Sam's locations on 19 and Pinellas Park are both VERY GOOD bordering and sometimes hitting EXCELLENT steakhouses. They serve quality meat, cut well, prepared and cooked well... PERIOD. Service and atmosphere are likewise very good to excellent. Like all quality restaurants Sam's has a well appointed full bar and wine list. I hate to tell you people... you don't eat steak with iced tea or soda, unless you're a pimply punk.    [24 Sep 2006 17:51:54]

My husband and I went back
Hello it is me again,we had a great meal the other night I had shrimp and crab cakes and it was great also my husband had a perfect steak (moooooing)!
Randie is an excellant server ! She is really a people pleaser, the best in Clearwater !!!!!!

We used to go once a week had a few bad meals had to wait over an hour for the meal one night, but Aaron sent me a certificate to go back and I did and we were very happy with the meal and Randie the server. We will be going there for Thanksgiving and bringing family; this is the first time in 40 years I am not making Thanksgiving dinner. I hope I am making the right choice.
I am sure it will be good Randie said; it is always great !!!!!!

I would like to make a suggestion, I really feel the manager should stop at every table when he or she is on duty and ask the patrons if they are enjoying there meal. Since Sam's opened up in Clearwater we were there once a week for years and never had a manager come over to ask us about our meal. Is because we sit at the tables in the bar area???? I will let you know about Thanksgiving dinner.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Benita    [23 Nov 2006 13:27:15]

Simply great
We took two friends to Sam"s last night who hadn't had the pleasure of going there before. They were totally impressed with the food, service & cost. Our meals were perfect.
The fillet & lobster that I had couldn't have been better. WE all commented that we've many places (Vegas,Cancun,Barbados etc.) & never had food any better.
Would reccomend this restaurant to anyone.    [22 Mar 2007 10:37:49]

excellent steak
My family and I are from Buffalo, NY and are down here on vacation visiting my parents. We went this past Wednesday night (March 28)for 6pm reservations. We only waited about 10 minutes for our table and were seated. Our waiter Saeed was exceptional. The steak was outstanding and we did not have a long wait to get our food. If there was a Sam Seltzer's in Buffalo...what a killing they would make.    [30 Mar 2007 21:25:22]

it's a great place to go if you do not care what to eat
Sam Seltzer's is very popular among seniors and low income groups in our region (Port Richey). The reason - comparatevily low prices, constant flow of coupons for free stuff (like greesy fried onion and a bottle of wine, which content is cheeper than the bottle that holds it), and well known Sam's policy to pay for your meal even if you had finished it but said to the manager that you did not like it... The quality of the food is mediocre, steaks on sale taste like paper and the coconut shrimp are the same as they sell in Danny's but for double the price... So if you like to have a free meal, sharing your room with other post-50 low income clientele, Sam Seltzers is your place to go.    [09 Jul 2007 14:24:27]

Charged Twice
We had a good meal for a reasonable price at Sam Seltzers on 7/17. When I got home and checked my bank statement, they had charged me twice for my meal! I will be calling first thing tomorrow to have this taken care of. It was a good meal, but not good enough to pay for it twice. Check your bank statement.    [19 Jul 2007 23:14:11]

My Husband and I spend January and February in Clearwater, we go to Sams many times.

We love the prime Rib and it is always good. Cant wait for 2009 to come around, just to go back.

For a steakhopuse, they can't cook a steak
First of all, when we arrived we were told there was no wait and that they were just "cleaning a table for us", 45 min later, we were sat. After being sat (without an apology) we waited another 15 min before the server stopped by. We ordered drinks, again another 10-15 min before we received drinks. most of them anyway. My son, who is 3 yrs old and autistic did not get his drink. So, if you can imagine this 3 yr old sitting with no drink while everyone else had one. The service was horribly slow, the filet was so overcooked you couldn't eat it. When they brought the new steak, it was raw! The 3rd steak was ok. My "lb of prime rib" was probably 10 oz of "prime fat". The server was rude and inattentive. The manager was not much better. No one apologized for anything. We spent well over 100$there and 1/2 of us never ate! There is just not enough room on this page to express my disappointment.    [18 May 2008 10:56:06]
