This place is highly oriented to fried food, so non-fried choices are limited. Some items can be ordered broiled or blackened and there are burgers and such for the non-seafood eaters but the majority of the food here is fried. Of course this is not so unusual in this area, many people prefer fried food over the healthier alternatives.

That being said, we have stopped here for lunch twice and enjoyed our meals both times. The seafood chowder was quite good, the broiled haddock was fine and the various fried items were enjoyable as well. All seafood items seemed to be fresh and of good quality.

On the first visit we ate on the outdoor patio which was quite enjoyable but the service was a bit slow, perhaps due to the server having a long distance to cover. The second time we ate inside and the service was prompt and attentive without being intrusive.

I will continue my search for a place that serves baked fish with a few crumbs, but until I find one I will continue eating at Dan's when we are in the area.    [07 Apr 2007 12:49:30]

Won't Go Again
The dining experience was OK till the owner Dan showed up.
Must of had a bad day because he started ranting and raving about we're not sure what.

Great dining experience
We were visiting from Miami and decided to give Dan's Clam Stand a try and we were very happy we did. The food was exceptional, and the food was priced right. The server was in training but was very attentive! We can't wait to go back again.    [04 Aug 2007 23:38:10]
