Wonderful Ride -- Good Lunch
Beautiful view, good service, tasty lunch. I had oysters which the serving was more than enough. The Manhattan chowder was excellent.    [30 Apr 2007 12:07:20]

We are Snowbirds and Pecks is one of the highlights of our winter stay. The almond crusted grouper and blue cab cakes are to die for. We love these so much we rarely try other entrees.    [13 Mar 2007 21:07:52]

Went for lunch, week day: after placing our order it took 1hr.20 min before our "lunch special" arrived. While waiting for over an hour for our lunch, never once did a waitress stop by and/or offered refills on drinks.

Ambiance nice, relaxed atmosphere, quiet; nice view, comfortable seats.

Be aware if you order a dish with garlic here, they really "pile it on", which is fine with me. Daily special lunch was steamed mussels in garlic and wine. Very nice plum mussels. The (deep) fried calamari was OK although the breading (nice and crisp) was to heavy , thick so you did not taste the fine taste of the calamari.    [03 Mar 2007 19:54:47]

Nice ride, pleasant lunch
This restaurant is located near the end of a narrow, winding road, 9 miles from US Highway 19. If you didn't know it was there you would wonder why anyone would venture down this way. When you do arrive the restaurant is small and very popular. We visited around 1:30 on a Wednesday, not what you would expect to be a busy time yet there was a 20 minute waiting list. It was a sunny day so the wait was no problem. There is a deck overlooking the water if you prefer to wait outside, or you can enjoy a beverage at the bar while you wait.

Our meals were from the lunch specials, which are are available fried, broiled, blackened, Cajun or almond crusted. My dining companion ordered the combo platter, fried, and I had the catch-of-the-day (grouper, broiled). Both came with a choice of New England or Manhattan style chowder, so we tried one of each. The New England chowder was quite good, but the Manhattan chowder seemed a bit thin and less tasty than I expected. Both meals were well prepared and arriving with the sides of cole slaw and hush puppies. The grouper was very fresh and delightful. The portions were not large but this was from the lunch menu and the cost of both meals with two soft drinks and the state tax was under $25.

The wait staff seemed to be over worked and it was necessary to signal our waitress to get the bill, but she did refill the drinks when needed without being asked.

I would not hesitate to try this place again but I suspect the evenings might have a longer wait than we encountered on a week-day afternoon.    [21 Feb 2007 19:26:33]

Worst Stuff this side of a slough
Really bad, bad, bad in all respects.

Bad Food, Bad Service, Bad Attitudes this excuse for a food establishment.
The only thing good is the location and view which could be worth the drive if you don't want to eat.    [12 Feb 2007 09:13:53]
