I love Sapporos You sit at high tables with a grill in the middle. A chef prepares the food right in front of you. He is very entertaining. The food is plentiful and very good. He even catches a shrimp in his hat. What could be more entertaining than that! [27 Jun 2000 21:52:20]

Do not recommend This place used to be very nice, but has now fallen into substandard. The wait staff is not friendly and the food is substandard. The inside is old, dirty and worn down. [20 Jul 2005 15:18:53]

Daytona Beach Dinner, Daytona Beacher reviewer at daytona dot com
I do not Recommend Sapporo I went to Sapporo's a week ago. I've been there many times while traveling to and from Daytona Beach. each time I go there, it seems to get worse and worse.
The food is no longer the quality it used to be and the entertainment value of having someone cook and entertain you at yout table is no longer there. The chefs are slow and boring. Most are just college kids now, not even Japanese.
Our food was prepared improperly and some of it never came to the table. After we spoke to the manager (who said he had been there for over 20 years), he offered no apologies, just wanted us to pay for food we never received.
Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. [24 Jul 2005 11:03:01]

2006 and Sapporo's is great! Unlike the old previous reviews on here for Sapporo's, I have been going throughout 2006 and it's wonderful. The lunch special can't be beat. The prices are maybe $2.00 more than you would spend on a greasy fast food meal except you are getting fresh food prepared right in front of you and it's entertaining. Yes some of the chefs are not Japanese but come on is that really making the food less Japanese?? I recommend you try it and see that in 2006 it's definitely outstanding. [02 Jun 2006 23:32:49]
