Do Not Go to Brains Barbeque and Catering in Deland Florida!
I recenly visited Brians Barbeque and Catering after a two year period of not being in the area. When we decided to take the family there on 11/26 I have to admit we were all looking forward to a memorable meal. The previous three times at Brians we enjoyed their service and meal. We were never so disappointed in our lives. First the manager was very unprofessionable with my daughter-in-law when she was told she had no idea how long it would be before we sat down. She just wanted to know if she should feed my 3 month old grand daughter before or after the meal. Next, after ordering our appitizers, they didn't come until we constantly asked the waitress for them. They showed up 35 minutes after ordering, we took a few bites and the main entree came. The entree was terrible. The food was cold ( I sent my food back and told the manager I did not want it) and the ribs were tough. Our party consisted of eight adults and everyone was disappointed. Looking around to other patron's while we were there, I saw we were not the only ones with issues. A couple on one side of us was told their order was not posted after numerous guestions about when they were going to be served. My Favorite Place for Barbecue and Steaks
Each of the half dozen times I've been to Brian's Bar B Que, I've taken a comment card home with me, and raved about the level of service there. I have yet to find better Barbecue in Deland, or even in the Debary, Orange City, or Deltona areas. I eat at Brian's Bar B Que atleast 4 times a month. Their parking lot is always full, and their patrons are mostly locals ("that says a lot about a restaurant"). Best Bar B Que
I love this place. Coming from Orlando where the only Bar B Que places that you trust are Smokey Bones and Sonny's this is great. I love their Baby Back Ribs and my husband loves the Texas Bar B Que Beef. The kids all have their favorites too. This is such a relief since we usually couldn't all go to Bar B Que places until Brian's because of problems with different people in the family and foods at the restaurants. Biggest complaint is beans are often not warm and the fries are barely warm, but other than that love this place.    [15 Jun 2004 10:12:52]

Brians is Wonderful!

Great Food
The restaurant is right down the street and we order often. The food always comes out tasting great with a nice smoky flavor. The Monterey Hickory Chicken Breast is a lot of food (it fed me twice and I have a good appetite!) and it has a wonderful flavor. The beans and Texas toast are usually cold so I can't comment on taste but the coleslaw is excellent! We take out usually but our experience dining there has been that it's usually cold, a little loud but the decor is nice and rustic!    [03 Jul 2007 17:51:00]
