Best sushi around Florida I have a daughter in college thank God. Otherwise I might never have tasted the sushi at Dragonfly. By far the best I've had. It takes me roughly 3 hours to get to Gainesville. Totally worth the drive. [05 May 2006 12:14:44]

yum! Dragonfly is by far the best sushi I've ever had. It was the first sushi I had ever eaten 4 years ago, and it's still my favorite. I've had sushi everywhere from California to New York and Dragonfly is still my favorite. You gotta try it! [21 Feb 2007 20:56:14]

Good -- but not Outstanding I visited Dragonfly during a recent visit to Gainesville from my hometown of New Orleans.
The sushi was fresh and tasty, the presentations original, but the portions were just....well....skimpy. Here in the New Orleans area, I'm kind of spoiled. You could suck up this sushi in one breath! My other criticism was the green tea. I'm a green-tea-aholic, and love a nice strong brew with a dark green color. Theirs was served in tea bags from Republic of Tea. They brought them in little pots, and suggested I let it steep for a few minutes first. But in order to get any flavor out of it at all, you had to wait until it had steeped so long that it was cold -- and even then it was still weak. I would suggest to them that they pour hot water over strainers of green tea leaves, as is the custom around here. Makes for a much stronger, more flavorable tea. Concerning the prices -- a little higher than most, but not prohibitive. We usually spend about $65 for two people and here it was about $10 more. [22 Mar 2007 14:09:34]

The Best I've tried sushi from all around the world, Including other Jima Japanese islands. I have to say this is one of the best sushi I ever had. There signature roll (Dragonfly) has to be there best. They also have Korean BBQ which is delicious.
The restaurant itself is really nice and trendy. Good place to take a date or with friends.
It's pricey but if u love food and love satisfying ur taste buds and belly it's worth it. [24 Sep 2007 19:39:10]

Expensive but possibly worth it This is certainly expensive compared to the other sushi restaurants in town, but it's worth it if you order the right things. Don't order the fried shrimp roll or veggie tempura - they're delicious, but so are the ones elsewhere for 2/3 the price. Instead try the more interesting dishes that you can't find at other places. undoutably amazing It may be in a small college town - but, they are by far, the best sushi and Asian fusion cuisine I have ever had. I travel quite a bit - always try the "best" sushi/trend restaurant within any city... when you add it up, the combination of unique, consistent delicious food - with quality service, a trendy atmosphere, and a top notch bar... Dragonfly always beats out these "big city" locations. As for price- it may be a little "upscale" for the location... but it's a steal compared to lower quality places in NY, DC, Miami, Atlanta, etc. [29 Jun 2008 21:29:05]
