Sushi MATSURI will ALWAYS be the BEST!!
I went to UF and often at all the Gator games but one thing I enjoy the most when I'm in Gainesville every year is SUSHI MATSURI..same handsome polite chef/owner and with that- SAME great food and great price for the past 13 years! Ive traveled the world and have very high tastes in food..Matsuri will always be my favorite and all my friends from UF all would have to agreed with me...We all wanted our very own "Matsuri" in each one of our hometowns or city we live in!!    [23 Jul 2002 16:16:21]

Excellent Japanese Dining
Best Japanese food in Gainesville. Quality is consistent. Food tastes great. Served on wonderful wooden trays. Service staff is very pleasant and attentive. Ambiance is cozy. Try the Agee Tofu; Grouper roll; Tempura Shrimp and Vegetables. I always know I'll have a good meal there.    [10 Jan 2003 13:48:14]

Try the Spicy Tuna Salad
I like Matsuri pretty well. The service has always been pretty good. But the thing that keeps me coming back is their Spicy Tuna Salad. I just can't get it often enough. If you like Spicy Tuna Rolls, this salad is the salad for you.    [04 Apr 2003 11:30:02]

great sushi!
Yummy sushi... hard to find in Gainesville for the price!

I recommend the Krispy Krunchy roll... it's the best! Think of your favorite sushi roll, and Sushi Matsuri makes it even better by add Krunch!

Also delish are the Tampa Roll, Mexican Roll, and Philly Roll...

Great food, awful wait!
The food here is delicious! Prices aren't much higher than Bento's but the quality is much better. It's also the only sushi restaurant in Gainesville that has udon noodles - my favorite Japanese dish - as an entree. Yum!

But don't try to get a table. The wait is always at least 1/2 hour, even at 5:30 PM. Even worse, there's only waiting room for about 2 people, so you'll probably have to stand outside.
