Description
Located on the bank of Hall's River, this restaurant features large, cheap Margaritas. The menu has mainly American fare (steaks, seafood, chicken, sandwiches, etc.) with daily specials. Very popular so to avoid a long wait try to visit outside of the lunch and dinner rush (reservations not taken.) It is not unusual to see native birds and manatees in Hall's River.

Dine by the river This is one of our regular lunch spots (note that the menu is the same for lunch or dinner) and it is very popular with both locals and tourists. The main attractions are the riverside location and the large Margaritas. There are a number of different flavors and 3 sizes with the large served in a glass similar to a small fish bowl.
This is a family-run restaurant (a plus) and the service has always been very good, although they get very busy on Friday and Saturday evenings so the kitchen and the wait staff has trouble keeping up at these peak times. If you are on a tight schedule it is better to come early and avoid the evening rush.
The meals are good in general. The seafood has always been fresh and well prepared but I would go else-where for a steak dinner. The one beef dish that is an exceptional value is the prime-rib sandwich ($6.95) which includes your choice of cole-slaw of American fries (this establishment states that they will serve nothing that is French, including wine and fries). The addition of a dinner salad for $2.95 provides a tasty and filling lunch for under $10.
My dining companion usually orders a shrimp dish or occasionally the Mahi Mahi. Both have always been good choices. If you order the shrimp fried it comes lightly breaded which helps to avoid excess carbs and oil. The Mahi can be either grilled or blackened.
The atmosphere has improved recently but one gets the impression that this place will never set the standard for cleanliness. The health department isn't about to shut them down, it's not that bad, but they could wash the windows a bit more often to help the diners enjoy the river-view.
Overall we enjoy this place, it offers a nice setting and very reasonably prices meals. [30 Jun 2006 20:16:24]

The Best Always!! No matter when I visit Margarita Grille in Homosassa, the food is the same, delicious. No matter what I order the food is the same, delicious. Atmosphere is pleasant with dockside boat slips aplenty. The patriotic theme throughout is heartwarming considering the owners are Greek transplants to the U.S. One could not find a more patriotic man in this country than Tommy. I am proud to have met him. What you might not know about Marguerita Grill The owner treats his employee’s very badly. He is very disrespectful. He cusses them out in front of all. He actually says the “F” word at them. Is this a family-oriented fun-loving restaurant that you would like to patronize? How dare he do the “God Bless America” thing. He should throw his self out the door for being the most unpatriotic person in the restaurant. It doesn’t matter about the food I will never patronize this establishment again. Word of mouth is the best form of advertising there is. [26 Jan 2007 13:11:39]

Food sucked, service sucked, parking sucked! This was my fourth trip to the margarita grill. The other three visits the food was good; nothing special but good. This time the wait was long to get a table, to be waited, and then to receive the food. Two of us ordered the ribs and they arrived cold next to piping hot fries. We sent the ribs back for reheating and they came back barely warmer than the first time. The bread was cold and chewy. The restaurant is not the most asthetically pleasing place, and the owner being super-patriotic does not improve my opinion of the place at all; I went there for food, not a show of patriotism. The parking was horrible and because some people parked "whereever they could" we had to wait until other cars left just to leave the parking lot. [25 Feb 2007 11:32:11]

Wonderful Restaurant with a small town feel! My entire family loves this restaurant and every out-of-town guest we have asks to go there! It is truly a family atmosphere with father and son visiting tables and often entertaining patrons with magic tricks. The weekend nights are a little crazy and sometimes with a long waiting list, but this never stops our company from wanting to experience the patriotic flag waving ceremony and then dancing the night away at Margarita Grille of Homosassa! My husband and i have been going to this fabulous restaurant for 8 years now we have moved from Spring Hill to Port Richey and still go as often as possible; its worth the drive! The wait staff is friendly, courteous, and efficient; we have never had a bad mea ! The owner is funny, and very patriotic, we should all feel more like him!! [27 Jun 2007 10:41:03]

Horrible My husband and I have been to this restaurant 3 times now and this last visit was the worst of them all. During the first visit we sat on the back patio and enjoyed the water view, but agreed the food wasn't great. We took out-of-town family there the next visit hoping they could see a manatee and some other wildlife, but the patio seating was full and we had to sit in the loud inside area. Service was slow and food was greasy and luke-warm. This last visit was during lunch on a Saturday and we were seated inside next to the large Window just before the outside patio seating area. The wall was cracked and the electrical was hanging off the wall. An awful stench was coming out of the wall with every breeze that blew. We complained that it smelled and the horrible inexperienced waitress said "I have honestly never heard that before." That was my first clue that they had heard that before and probably a lot. They used to have candles there, but this time they were gone, which is probably whey I never smelled that stench before. The waitress didn't even get the owner who was there and when we asked to speak to him she said he was on the patio now and we would have to wait. The smell was so bad I couldn't even eat the stale bread or cold food that was served to us. We ended up leaving and vowed to never return. I have filed a complaint with the Health Department and hope that the owner will clean his restaurant up a little bit. If you choose to go there, take note of the ceiling and walls/electrical and hope they do not sit you next to the large window. HUH, ask if you can have a tour of the kitchen and you can always tell how clean a restaurant in by there bathroom and theirs is filthy. [06 Jul 2007 08:59:45]

Great Food, Great Dining, Great People!!!! We come all the way from Northern IL and can't wait to eat at Margarita Grill each year we visit! I've never had such great food! The owners, Tommy and Sammy, always make a point to come around and make sure everything is going great! We love the grilled Octopus; they cook it just right! The Calamari, Gator bites among many other dishes served are just as good! We would recommend anyone to visit and enjoy a great meal at Margarita Grill! [12 Sep 2007 09:55:06]
