When I first walked in, I was shocked, because the appearance seemed quite elegant for a K-Mart plaza restaurant. As I sat down though I noticed several unpleasant odors emanating from various areas, the most distinct being cigarette smoke; In fact, I spotted several butts on the floor.

Additionally, the incessantly slamming kitchen door, which seemed to be partially unhinged, allowed me a horrifying glimpse into a squalid excuse for a kitchen. Additionally, I could see both servers and kitchen staff smoking cigarettes toward the back.

As an appetizer, I ordered Roasted Peppers and Fresh Mozzarella. The Mozzarella was quite good, but of the same quality of the "fresh mozzarella" one can kind in the deli section of his local grocery store. The "roasted peppers" were doubtlessly one in the same with what one can find in a jar. The price tag of $9.95 only added insult to injury.

For an entree, I decided on the Zuppa De Pesce, which my server recommended highly. This dish featured muscles, clams, calimari, shrimp, and linguini in a red sauce- all of which I could tell were frozen. Most disturbing was the fact that I was served the dish with four or five muscles which had failed to open during the cooking process (this is a serious health hazard). Once again, the steep price of around $18.00 left me feeling indignant.

I decided not to waste money to try any of the "homemade" deserts, but the entire experience was rounded out by the constant cursing and complaining from the young pizza maker behind the counter.    [02 Apr 2009 16:59:00]
