My experience at Stumpknockers on The Square
I went with my family on Valentine's Day and we somewhat disappointed. Granted it was Valentine's Day and we expected it to be busy, so we made reservations. Our reservation was for 7:15, we didn't get into the restaurant until around 8:00.
Although the food was great, we had terrible service and a very long wait. People who came in after us were eating and leaving before we even got our main entree.    [19 Feb 2003 10:23:39]

Really Yummy!
Have eaten lunch there twice? Both times had the grouper sandwich...I love seafood and it, both times, was absolutely one of the best I have ever had. Service was very good. The price was $5.95 for a huge piece of fish with potato salad and cole slaw. The fish tasted fresh and had a lot of flavor. A lot for the money.    [28 Feb 2003 18:32:31]

Food was really outstanding but the service i got was not all that good. I had to wait for almost 45 mins to get a table and then my sever didn't come for another 20 so I was really upset. But the meal was worth the wait and I will be back next time I am back in town.    [29 Dec 2003 10:18:19]

Went today, absolutely awful service, in fact non-existent service. Told manager on the way out; he was disinterested. Well, you know the saying "I told two people and they told

Went there yesterday for dinner....had a great meal and great service. Very fun atmosphere with fun employee's. Of course I go out for dinner the old-fashioned way....to relax and enjoy myself. TERRIBLE
Lunch 12/10/05 myself and my wife

Conch fritter not cooked sent them back.
Grilled Chicken sandwich had no taste, not browned and grissel through center. Couldn't eat.
Tomato served with sandwich old, should have been tossed out.

Waitress brought ketchup bottle to table with ketchup running down the side.

Not worth it
Food: Seafood or Steak. No other options for people with diet restrictions, etc... .
No soups ( accept clam chowder, etc.. ), or salads.
Don't go here if you are looking for a variety in food.

Service: Wait staff wasn't very friendly.

Cleanliness: I've seen cleaner restrooms in a gas station. Graffiti on walls, etc... .

OUTSTANDING RESTAURANT
We just had dinner there tonight. We had such a great time and a great meal. The fried Grouper was outstanding. My partner had the broiled platter & loved it. Our friends got Prime Rib & loved it as well as blackened garlic shrimp. I tasted the shrimp - best I ever had. Our server was prompt and friendly/funny. We ALWAYS have a great time there - our favorite place. By the way...my bathroom had no writing on the walls - was very clean - I asked my partner about the other one - same thing.......Too bad hard working people have to deal with such rude customers    [21 Feb 2006 21:00:43]

Changes Needed
For Inverness the food is fair, but then we have few choices. I have been many times, I eat out a lot and its close by. I think the food quality depends on the chef on duty the time you happen to go. Some times it has been better than others. The service needs a overhaul, slow but friendly has been my experiance. I think Stump Knockers could take Inverness by storm with better service and more consistant quality control in the kitchen.
