Poor Service. First of all this was our first time visiting Nicks TOmato Pie. I live about 2 minutes away, on the river. We ordered a bottle of Ford Coppella, and the Special Dinner which included a free refill of wine. So, she said that we could have 2 each refill of the house wine since we ordered a bottle of wine. Great! But on the down side the whole dinner she watched us like a hawk, and we felt uncomfortable. So we poured our first glass and we were very happy. I couldn't wait to tell my friends. So she came up to us when we poured our second glass and said "I'm measuring the bottle and you are drinking too much, you have to drink out of the little glass. I'm not charging you." Well, this was the second time she said she wasn't charging us. I felt like a piece of you know what, so I will not be going back ever. I did ask the hostess, who was very nice and pleasant to get the manager. The manager was tall, blonde and didn't tell her name, was scared for some reason and didn't help. We really enjoyed the dinner and this is the only place I wanted to return to. Its clean but the waitress was so money hungry it was sickening. I left a 20 percent tip, and I was going to leave more before all that happened. I was going to have a family gathering here but I'm so upset this happened. Since there is not too many places to go here in Jupiter and with all the hype on the news nobody wants to go out to eat. [17 May 2005 19:43:10]

We come from Indiana to Go to Nicks! This is the Best Italian restaurant!! If you've never eaten at Nick's you've never had Italian food!!! I have had less than a pleasant experience there, but I can't remember why...because the food outweighed the experience! When we come to Florida, I just hope we can squeeze in a visit to Nick's! My Grandma & Grandpa introduced us to it ... as longtime Nick's fans! I would recommend if you don't like to eat italian, just come for the desserts! [11 Jan 2006 16:05:27]

Rotten Customer Service My wife and I and another couple had just about finished our meal at Nicks Tomato Pie when a waitress, carrying a whole tray of wine and beer, dropped the tray next to the table we were seated at. Glass flew everywhere and a beer hit the back of my wife. The waitress apologized and said "this happens all the time". The manager never showed up. I finally had the busboy who was still cleaning up the glass under the table get the manager. She finally showed after the waitress placed the bill on the table. We were outraged that the manager did nothing and said "well you ate didn't you".She finally said well I will take the Bill to the "owner" who decided to remove two glasses of wine ($10.00) from the Bill which was around $110.00. We paid and left but were steamed at the ambivalence of the so called Manager and Owner. My son who is a waiter (while finishing law school) at a similar type of restaurant in Rockville MD said the policy in his reataurant is to immediately find out if anyone was injured by flying glass and if clothing was damaged and then comp the meal and give the diners a gift card to come back. That's good customer service. Nicks Tomato Pie did next to nothing and with an attitude to make it worse. My recommendation is to select another Italian restaurant and forget Nicks. Great food at a great price I have been eating at Nicks for many years now and have nothing but good things to say about nicks tomato pie.
Nicks is a great family eatery. The bartenders make a great drink and do not skimp on the acholol.
The atmosphere is wonderful whether you are sitting in the back for a large party, in the main section where the booths are; and if you want to eat at the bar or sit in a booth by the bar that is also possible as seating is plentiful. I am not a seafood lover but the out of town visitors I bring to nicks rave about the seafood specials as well as the regular seafood menu items. They serve traditional Italian and the house salad is excellent. The garlic is fresh and the bread comes to the table piping hot. The appetizers are large portions and can be shared by two. I can guarantee that you will not get better Chicken Parm anywhere in town.
The desserts are great. I can honestly say that there is not a bad item on the menu; I have tried most items. Some of the waitresses have been there for ten years or more if you find an airhead working there she won’t be there long.
The downside: the Owners could be a bit friendlier as they are there frequently. The stuffed mushrooms come with crab and I am allergic to shellfish but love mushrooms. They don’t offer artichoke hearts often enough.
The menu has great offerings but after 10 years I need a change. I still go once a month now but for years I ate there twice/week. NO I am not related to anyone who works there or the owners and I am not getting paid to write this. [23 Dec 2006 20:41:51]

Lots of workers around, not much service For such a great atmosphere, they really could make this a much better experience. The place wasn't extremely busy and we usually have an "ok" experience here. Wrong meals, wrong bill, waited one hour for the food. Seriously -- one hour and that was for lasagna so not much prep is required. By the time it arrived, we were tired of sitting there and took it to go. No apology or explanation for the wait -- no one seemed interested enough to care. Lots of workers wandering (4 girls standing at the greeting counter seemed a bit much) Disappointing. While I know things go wrong, it sure helps someone shows the slightest interest in the fact that you've been waiting an hour for food. We didn't complain, just left. What's the point. I hate when you spend money to go out and wish you'd eaten at home. I still consider dining out a treat. [02 Jan 2007 00:33:01]

Loved it, and bringing 6 more people next week I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, service and the prices were the best I have seen in a long time. We are looking foward to going back with more friends again and again. Worth the trip from Port St. Lucie.

LEARN HOW TO SPELL! I went there with my family and noticed that the sign says "Nick's Tomatoe Pie." The word 'tomato' does not have an 'e' at the end! Did anyone else notice this?
As far as the food goes, the brushetta is great. My dinner was just OK -- I asked for a smooth sauce for my shrimp Parmesan, but it came with a chunky sauce. [21 Apr 2007 16:07:04]

The best Italian Food In S Florida I have nothing but great things to say about Nicks !! Great food and atmosphere, good service and again the food; wow the food. The Chicken Parm is the best I have had at any restaurant and the meat sauce is authentic Italian. [23 Apr 2007 15:36:12]

Good food, bad service I moved to Florida from the northeast and have found Nick's to have some of the better Italian food in the area. It is also fairly inexpensive.
The downside is the highly inconsistent service. There have been times where service has been fine and other times when orders have been forgotten and wait times have been incredibly long before food arrives at the table.
My suggestion is to go off-season (e.g., summer) when there are fewer people than in the winter months.
The restaurant apparently does not make any attempt to train its staff in providing good service, which is a problem that occurs in many south Florida restaurants. The owners seem content to rely on the large number of "snowbirders" who eat out. Given the wait time to get in the restaurant during the winter months, they apparently don't have a financial incentive to do any better. [07 Jul 2007 19:32:21]
