Snappers I love seafood. I have lived in south Florida for 20 years. If I want really fresh seafood I go to the Keys. Even South Florida has frozen fish and god only knows why. Anyway. I had one of the best meals I have ever eaten at Snappers. It was the Yellowtail on the Cedar Plank. My God, was it heavenly. [02 Aug 2003 15:38:28]

Service at Snapper's stinks My husband, his parents and I visited Snapper's recently. While the view and atmosphere are great, the food is average and the service absolutely stinks. I have never had such indifferent, incompetent and slow service. We complained to the manager, who appeared to be uninterested in our experience. I would not recommend it to anyone. One of the Key's Best I have eaten at Snappers many times while living in or visiting south FL and have never walked away disappointed. The food is always outstanding, the service is quick and friendly, and the ambiance is perfect whether is be for a date or bringing the family. Take time to feed the tarpon from the food dispensers on the side of the deck!! [14 Apr 2004 12:42:57]

Great Food Our annual trip to the Key's starts at Key Largo and we always eat at Snapper's...sometimes the service isn't 5 star...but the food always is. We think it's pretty damn good. [22 Jan 2007 11:51:34]

Grouper or Skunk? On a recent trip to the Keys, My sister choose to celebrate her birthday at Snappers. I ordered the Grouper dinner which, to my dismay, was either the worst Grouper I've ever been served or some other type of fish had been passed as Grouper. After ONE bite, I complained to the waiter who claimed he checked with the kitchen. I wasn't offered a replacement meal. When we were paying the check the waiter asked how the meal was....DAH! lousy!! He then stated that it wasn't because of his service...HEY, I didn't eat, remember! The manager (possibly the owner) asked what the problem was, told him the fish was not Grouper, he insisted it was...no meal, lousy service, expensive water...NOT PRICELESS. By the way..,read the article on ABC news.com...now everyone knows about switching out low priced fish for high end. Hey Snappers...the world is on to you!
- EDITOR'S NOTE - Due to a scarcity of the grouper species in Florida waters due to over-fishing, many restaurants at this time are very often victimized by their providers. Most actually believe they are receiving a shipment of "grouper" as marked, but the provider is the deceiver; it is hard to tell when you don't fillet your own fish. [14 May 2007 21:46:58]
