A Local Favorite
Abbondanza's is one of those place most overlooked by the tourists. It is off the beaten and more "traditional" path for the throngs which makes the atmosphere of this restaurant all the more enjoyable. Obviously their menu is all Italian, but it's prices won't have you calling your broker to refinance your home. Again, you are welcomed with a smile, but you should get there fairly early to avoid having to wait for a table. The food is excellent with no overpowering spices nor the excessive use of vinegar for those who are sensitive to it. You get plenty of food, but like the other restaurants, if you want a dinner salad, I believe that is extra. Disappointing
Very disappointed. Went for dinner based on good reviews. Food was very disappointing. Service was non-existent. Extremely long wait for food (over 45 minutes). One person in the party could not even finish her dinner. Two tables near us complained about the service and wait and were ignored, so we didn't bother. Explanation for wait time was given that all entrees are prepared from scratch. Did not taste like it! Only disappointing meal I had in Key West.    [09 Apr 2003 17:07:12]

Great Food & Atmosphere in Key West F-L-A
I frequently travel to Key West for long weekends or short vacations; depending on the frame of mind. Abbondanza is always there with fabulous food and great atmosphere. Price is very reasonable. When in KW, it is an excellent place to eat. STAFF AND MANAGEMENT ARE GREAT!    [24 Apr 2003 16:17:04]

Recommended by Locals.
My husband and I went on advice from owners of small inn we were staying at. We did go early (6:00ish) and were seated promptly. Service was immediate and attentive. By far our favorite restaurant in Key West
Every time we go to Key West we hit all the restaurants that serve fresh seafood because we don't get much of it up north. But on our last night we save the best for last, Abbondanza. We adore the fresh pasta dishes. The veal and poultry dishes are always superb. Never had a bad meal here.
