Awesome lobster and great staff!
My daughter and I had the pleasure of visiting Captain Nemo's in Kissimmee when we were on vacation and we loved it! The food was excellent (especially the lobsters) they were big, fresh, and tender. Also the wait staff was outstanding -- they even took the time to show us an easy way to crack and peel them. I would rate this restaurant a "10" compared to other "all you can eat lobster feasts" in Orlando.    [30 Jan 2003 16:02:36]

Absolutely Awesome!
Going to Nemo's is a 3 time a year treat my wife and I look forward to when we are in Kissimmee.
It is one of the reasons we keep coming back to the Orlando area.    [03 Oct 2003 05:55:19]

Captain Rip-off's - BEWARE!
We are a family of four and we have visited the Orlando area numerous times, but had never tried Captain Nemo's before. We were in the mood to have a really great dinner since this was the first day of our vacation. What lured us in was the giant sign outside stating it was the best feast in the something or other; can't remember exact wording.

The first bad sign was that when we entered, the restaurant was kind of dark. We looked over the menu and discovered that on their buffet, not only did they have lobster, but crab legs and steaks. We were a little concerned at the whopping $29.95/per adult price tag. We had one child that was a little cheaper @ $14.95. We were escorted to a table and the server came by to take our drink order. We asked if the drinks were included in the buffet price and she stated that they were "or at least we thought that was what she said". After we got our $115 bill! Ouch! We found out they were not and were $2.25 each! Their buffet did have a lot of choices on it, but the steaks that were listed on the menu at the entrance were nowhere to be found. We had to ask the waitress twice as to where the steaks were, and she finally (after we had started eating other things) stated that they were out of steak. That was the only thing my daughter and wife had wanted. They aren't much into crab legs and lobster.

Their dessert bar that was advertised as superb and (they charge $5.95 for it) if you just want to come in for dessert, had soft serve ice cream, some cookies, and some dry looking cake.

The salad bar was also very sparse.

I asked to see the manager and he finally made his way to our table. I asked if he would adjust the price of our bill since he didn't have any steak on the bar and that was what my wife and daughter had wanted and he refused. In fact this guy said he was the owner and he stated that they mention on the menu at the front that not all items may be available on the buffet. He justed grinned and walked away.

I went to the front to look at the menu and sure enough in teenie tiny print at the very bottom it did state that. My mistake!! And boy what a mistake!

The rest of the week went really well because we all shook it off as experience and nick-named the restaurant as "Captain Rip-off's"! Beware, this restaurant is a tourist trap! Oh, to be fair the crab legs weren't bad, but I could have gone to Red Lobster down the street, paid half as much, and enjoyed my meal!    [26 Mar 2004 17:40:04]

UGH! Tourist Trap!
There were two of us, wife ordered off the menu, I did buffet. Our extremely expensive sodas tasted very off. The Caesar salad my wife got was extremely salty, shrimp burnt, steak tough. $30 down the drain. For me the crab legs were tiny and had been held way too long, the lobster was not fresh, it was frozen, shrivelled and rubbery (ecch), didn't taste at all like lobster. Jambalaya was awful and contained octopus of all things, the dessert bar was a few slivers of dried out cake or pie and watery ice cream. Lobster not included in Crab and Lobster Buffet, it adds $6 and like I said, it's awful. Nothing on the buffet was "delicious", fresh or even good. $40 down the drain. Avoid this place, it's a tourist trap.    [26 Dec 2006 07:38:57]

R-I-P O-F-F BEWARE!
We are a family of five (2 adults & 3 kids). We were in the mood for some seafood and we saw Captain Nemo's with a big sign out front advertising lobster & steak at an "all you can eat" buffet.

We entered and the atmosphere was pretty crappy; a few cafeteria style tables and a pathetic, very small, buffet. The dessert buffet was a joke; old pre-sliced cake on individual plates, a big bowl of congealed pudding, and an ice-cream machine.

The dinner buffet had no lobster or steak. There were some very small king crab legs, breaded scallops, clam chowder (which tasted NOTHING like clam chowder, I've had better canned chowder!), and some fried catfish; that was the extent of the seafood. There was also some hard lasagna, meatless ribs, vegetable beef stew, a bowl of wilted lettuce and some sides like mac & cheese and potato wedges.

Nothing was good AT ALL! And what did the bill come to.... are you ready for this.... $80.00!!! Yes, that's not a typo... $80.00!! It's 22.95 per adult and 10.95 per kid plus drinks. Luckily, our youngest (she's 2) ate free, otherwise it would have been even more $$.

My advice: If you're going to spend this kind of money, and you're in the mood for seafood, there is another seafood restaurant right down the road. Go there instead!    [23 Jan 2007 10:19:39]

Avoid this Place!
Captain Nemo's used to be just barely OK. We have to remember that a buffet like this can't be expected to serve excellent food, because the food is prepared for huge crowds and then sits out on the warming racks forever. But this place will remind you of your high school cafeteria, only just not as good. Disney over charges for it's meal, but at least they serve average tasting food. Nemo's is nowhere near that good. The signiture dish is lobster; you can eat all you want, but you won't want to eat very much, because the lobsters are small, rubbery, tasteless. They won't even provide real drawn butter with the lobsters, but instead offer some awful sort-of-margarine stuff.    [27 Mar 2007 16:33:08]
