Chilis of Ocala sold me a quesadilla meal that had been bitten out of
Let me start by stating that I have been a customer of Chilis for over 15 years. In those fifteen years, I have never experienced anything like what I have just experienced in the last hour. I ordered food for my family from Chilis at 9:44pm. It was a To Go order. While speaking with the person that was taking the order, the person seemed to have a non-caring attitude. Whenever I would tell him what I wanted, his response was 'What Else' 'Yeah, what else'...as I was giving him my order, I requested corn on the cob for my son's order (which they did not give my son, instead they gave him fries that looked as if they had been twice fried and the fries were FULL of salt!) I also asked that my steak quesadilla meal come with the lettuce and tomatoes that you get when you eat in. I mentioned to the gentleman that I noticed that when you order it To Go, they don't include these items. I then told him 'I want it prepared in the same manner as if I were eating in.' He said that he would let them (the cooks I assume) know.
Well, when my husband picked up the order and brought it home, I opened my son's meal and noticed the fries and no corn on the cobb. I then called and asked to speak with the manager. At this time, I had not yet opened my meal. I explained to the manager (Tony) what had happened. He said that he understood, and that the cooks just do the fries that way, but that the order was just rung in incorrectly. He offered to send me a coupon. I then asked my son if he wanted his corn on the cob or if he wanted to just eat the sandwich (this was while Tony the manager was on the phone with me) my son did not answer at the time. Therefore, I told Tony that it was too late (being 10:22 at the time) and that he could just send the coupons. Mind you, this is the FIRST time in 15yrs that Chilis would have had to send or give me any coupons. After the call, I tried to clean the salt off of the fries for my son. They were too salty and greasy. He (a seven year old kid who LOVES fries) just looked at the fries and said 'Mom, I don't want the fries'. I said 'I don't blame you.' By then, I had opened my oldest son's meal, I opened mine and offered a quesadilla to him. He said 'Yes ma'am' that he wanted one; I gave him one.
Well, I sat down and started eating my meal not long after the call. I ate one (maybe two) quesadilla's my self. I also ate a little rice and a little black beans. When I went to picked up the next quesadilla, I was disgusted! It had been bitten out of and re-cooked! Someone actually bit the food, cooked it and took our money for it. This was just wrong. I showed it to my husband. I said 'Look!' He said 'What?' I said 'Look!' He said 'No Way!' I said 'Yeah. Some nasty person bit out of the food and then cooked it!' I said 'That is just nasty!' He said 'What are you going to do about it?' I said 'I'm calling the manager again!' I called and spoke with Tony again. When I told him what happened, he cut me off and said 'Maam I find that hard to believe.' I said 'Well I AM GOING TO BRING IT TO YOU FOR YOU TO SEE! I'LL BE THERE IN A MINUTE!' and I hung up the phone. I took the uneatened portion of the food to him. As soon as I walked in the restaraunt with the food & told him You're NOT getting this back, but I want you to see it! He says to me 'My cooks would never do something like that. Maam here is your money back!' That made me even angrier. I started shouting at him! I told him that I did not want the money back. That I did not want any coupons either. But I wanted him to see it. He kept denying that his cooks had done it. I said 'Sir do you not see that this is a bite mark!'...he says 'Yes. I looks like a bite mark.' I said 'Sir do you not see that it has been cooked that way?!' He says 'Yes, but MY cooks would never do that.' I said to him 'Well I didn't cook it.' He says 'Yes but you've eaten out of it.' (meaning the plate of food) I said 'Yes, but you CAN TELL THAT IT WAS COOKED THAT WAY!!' He says 'Maam there's no need for you to raise your voice.' I continued to speak loudly expressing to him how long I had been a customer and also expressing the fact that his servers know me, and ALSO expressing how grossed out I was about this. I asked him for the name and number of the person in charge of Chilis. He refused to give me this. Instead, he tried pushing the customer service number off on me.
To make the rest of this long story short, I wound up settling for the district manager's name and number. But I am SURE that this is just another person who will deny this. EVEN though he/she wasn't there. That is why I kept the food. This is disgusting! This is the reason why restaraunts are being sued so much. Because they are not hiring people who care about people to cook the food. They could care less about cleanliness. Even worse, they are now eating from the food and serving it to people.
The manager TONY even told me (After admitting that it looked like a bite in the quesadilla and AFTER admitting that it appeared to be cooked that way) He had the NERVE to tell me 'Maybe it was cut that way maam.' I have the quesadilla, and that is DEFINITELY no cut!!! This is disgusting! and instead of trying to sue, I am going to let as many people know about this a possible. 05/01/2005 [01 May 2005 23:55:21]

A pleasant atmosphere
I stopped by this location with my daughter and fiance for a snack.
We had a huge (bottomless) tortilla basket AND chicken quesadillas. All was perfectly prepared and presented in a timely manner with a smile. [09 Oct 2006 21:54:57]
