Description
Intimate Cajun restaurant with great New Orleans style decorations. Serving lunch and dinner. The menu is extensive filled with many old Louisiana family favorite recopies. They are famous for their chicken gumbo and bread pudding with warm bourbon sauce. They serve microbrewery beer and French wines. Friday and Saturday nights the chef Henry comes out of the kitchen to sing a few songs. They also do catering and private parties and to go orders. It’s not HOT, simply seasoned well!

The cajun food was GREAT For a new restaurant they have it all together. It felt inviting from the minute we walked in the Ragin’ Roux Restaurant. The only complaint was we couldn't eat it all. The food was hot and delicious and served with a smile. I had the shrimp Creole and my brother had the special of the night that was the Chicken St. Pierre. For an appetizer we tried the Cajun Boudin. Warm bourbon sauce over Henry’s famous bread pudding and chocolate peanut butter pie made fresh daily by D was a real hit. In fact I’m going back again and taking the rest of my family. [26 Jul 2003 12:01:01]

Delicious I recently stopped by to try D & Henry's latest restaurant and was not disappointed (having also been a fan of their previous venture: Southern Garden). I had forgotten how truly wonderful fried chicken can be. Of course, this was great paired up with a couple of Abita Turbo Dogs. I rounded out my meal with Henry's Bread Pudding w/ Bourbon Sauce. When they say it's the "South's Best" they mean it!. I recommend the place 110%! [13 Aug 2003 07:54:13]

Real and Honest Homemade Food We have dined at "Ragin Roux" numerous times now and have enjoyed each meal we have eaten. We leave with a completely satisfied feeling after having enjoyed a wonderful meal that was fresh and homecooked. The deserts are all homemade and it is hard to choose between them. Love them all. Service is friendly and professional and the ambiance is delightful. What a wonderful experience in dining. [14 Aug 2003 07:45:09]

New Rage in Largo: Not Key Largo Either Dining at the Ragin'Roux transported me to neighborhood places that one usually experiences in Key West or New Orleans. I have tried both the lunch and dinner menus several times; not once, was I disappointed in one morsel.Do not let the word Cajun scare you, as the seasoning is very Goldilocks-like: not too hot and not too spicy, but 'just right.' Whatever else, one must leave room for the fabulous bread pudding with bourbon sauce. As if the food and atmosphere are not enough,Chef Henry delights everyone with his "voice like an angel." I anticipate 'standing room only'when word gets out about this great dining experience. I only hope owners D and Chef/Crooner Henry will honor my reservations when the mass migration to the mini-mall in Largo blossoms. [14 Aug 2003 08:40:23]

Cajun at its Best We're so glad to have great Cajun food right in our own backyard. Signs out front brought us in to the Ragin' Roux. We both had the fried catfish sampler platter - delicious! The jambalaya & crawfish etouffe were wonderful & as an added plus, the biscuits were as light as a feather. Of course, we had to sample the bread pudding & Henry's family banana pudding on D's recommendation. They were terrific! Next time we'll try the chocolate peanut butter pie. We'll definitely return & recommend the Ragin' Roux to our friends & family. [15 Aug 2003 13:20:24]
