To whom it may cusern
My family and I eat at Woodys B-Q a lot. I have been in there 3 tmes in a mouth and I have orderd a steak. Every time there has been a problem. This last time really upset me: I tried to talk to waitress but she wouldn't lisen. It took 45 min. for her to tell use she is sorry it is taking so long. Then the cooks told her they didn't have any steak thawed out. This was the trird time this has happen. The stake finely got there but it was very bad. It was like a rubber tire. That was the second one they put on to cook, becouse they was not watching the first one and burnt it. We sat there and watched them put it on and chopped it with the spachala to cook it faster. My husband was so upset. I love Woody's very much but I cant eat at Woody's if some things don't change. The first and second time I didn't say any thing becouse they told me it would take 45 min. This time she didn't tell me any thing until they messed up with the first steak. Thank you and please take care of this.    [13 Jun 2003 14:32:37]

BAR B Q Specialists, not Steak
I read wwith interest the other review. When will people learn to eat the food that a restaurant specializes in, not something else just because it's on the menu. Steak is great, usually when you go to a steak place, not a Bar B Q place. Try the Beef plate next time.

Now, on to a more relative comment. A friend of mine and I were headed back from Jacksonville to Atlanta the other night and just happened to notice Woody's when we exited for gas. Other than the service being a little slow, the food itself was excellent. The brunswick stew would be disapponting to the purist from Georgia and the Carolinas, since it has pieces of meat instead of being ground up and fillers like lima beans.

The pork sandwich itself though was perfect and the choices of different sauces should appeal to just about everyone's taste.

I would highly recommend this place to someone looking for a good pork sandwich, which is what the Bar B Q tradition in the South is all about anyway.    [26 Oct 2003 14:08:57]

Good hometown BBQ
As a local, Woody's is one of our favorite places to eat - of course, in Macclenny, there are only about 7 restaurants unless you count McD's, BK, KFC, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut etc... The Feast for 2 (or 4 depending on your party size) is great and always more than you can eat. The BBQ Salad (salad with BBQ'd pork, turkey or beef) is excellent. Some nights we get the large chicken wings appetizer and fried mushrooms for a "wings & beer" night. I've also ordered the prime rib a few times just for a change of pace and it was tender and had a great flavor. The worst comment I can make is that the service is sometimes slow and sometimes you get a piece of BBQ that has been left on the smoker too long.    [17 May 2006 14:08:42]
