The best!!! This is real Japanese sushi. The best I have eaten outside of Japan.
Mochi-san, the owner is the Sushi Chef, and he does it right. Mochi knows all the Japanese recipies. The wait staff are all Japanese women in Kimonos. This place is a real treat. [09 Dec 2004 10:33:12]

One of My Favorite restaurants anywhere Miyako is a completely authentic Japanese Restaurant, with excellent food at excellent prices.
Everything is prepared to exacting standards, and you get a very unique dining experience, because everything is served the traditional Japanese way, and many of the non-perishable ingredients are imported directly from japan.
They have an wide selection of dishes, from fresh sushi and sashimi, prepared by an expert sushi chef; to delicious beef, pork, chicken, and noodle dishes.
Along with your entree, you get rice, salad, Unlimited cups of the best green tea I've ever tasted, and a bowl of miso soup (the first time I tried miso soup, I wasn't too wild about it, but by the next day, I was craving some more).
If you're in the Melbourne area, I can't recommend Miyako Japanese Restaurant enough. [06 Jul 2005 16:05:06]

authentic The first time I stepped foot into Miyako Japanese restaurant was 11 years ago. I was nine years old, and had developed a love for what I thought was Japanese Cuisine, but had no idea what I had been missing. My father brought myself and my two brothers to "try sushi". The atmosphere was incredible. The food was amazing, and the hospitality was simply unforgettable. You are always greeted by the staff when you enter, waited on by the kindest of smiling faces, and treated like family. Even when I moved north, I made it a point to visit Mikayo each vacation I made back home. In 11 years of eating sushi in various restaurants all over the east coast, I have yet to find a place as warming, and tasty, as Miyako Japanese restaurant. A personal favorite... spicy conch in a basket. I couldn't even get it the way Miyako serves it when I tried explaining how to prepare it, to Sushi chefs at other restaurants! [14 Oct 2006 18:47:41]
