Food is great!
Excellent food, great antipasti plate, even a decent cheap wine selection. Low points, you eat off paper plates. Once I made a reservation for six, and when I arrived, I was rudely informed that the person that took the call was misinformed and they only took reservations for parties greater than six. And, they made sure that they sat people such that we would have wait for a table (even though they knew we were coming). We were not happy, and it showed. But once they managed to sit us (somewhat uncomfortably) they brought us a free appetizer. This would usually keep me from returning to a restaurant, but no, the food is too good.    [15 May 2006 16:09:34]

Blue Heaven
Spent a night in Micanopy and had lunch at the Blue Highway then had dinner elsewhere -- talk about extremes.

Blue Highway's pizza is exceptional. A talk with the owner showed the pride he has in making good food. He went into detail about his choices of ingredients and methods -- I was impressed, because he wanted to put good food in front of his customers, and he does. The Pizza Bianca (two cheeses, fresh tomatoes, garlic) was great -- and the pizza crust is something I want to be able to make myself.

This place is an amazing join! The wait staff is really friendly and the food is EXCELLENT!! The Calzones are to die for.

I came back !!!!!!
I love the Greek pizza. The flavor of the greek pizza is like "WOW" !! Totally fresh veggies with olives !! We also like the calzones. Beautiful golden color, and the portions. There is ALWAYS too much for us to eat, but please don't cut down on the portions, as we like to have a snack next day.

The Blue Highway's wait persons are ALWAYS great. Good, quick, attentive(though not hurried)service..

We love the decor of Blue Highway - relaxed, clean, and friendly surroundings. Music was not too loud. No kitchen noise.

We feel that the Blue Highway will always compete with some of the better restaurants in the Gainsville/Ocala area.

Very good, extended menu.. The food is a very good deal for the price.

We have and continue to recommend the Blue Highway to our Ocala friends. Never got anything but complementary reports from them, after eating there.

Reservations are not necessary, as outside tables are provided, under the shade trees, where one can sit back, grab a cool lemonade, converse, and make new friends; all this fun, while waiting with baited breath to commence a hearty participant of afore mentioned culinary wares!! Eat up guys!!

we had dinner at the blue Highway..made our "own" pizza..wasn't expecting to find gorgonzolla on the list..delicious. Having lived and eaten all over the world..from 4stars to chickens running under the table..the paper plates were hardly important.
