This is the South If i could think of a southern restaurant with flare it would be Zellie's.
No tablecloths, no matching tables & chairs and peanut shells all over the floor. Nascar posters everywhere and the best Wings in lake county.
There is an outdoor deck and volleyball court and live music on the weekends. Also good burgers and catfish fingerlings. A place where everyone knows everyone. [12 Apr 2004 14:01:05]

Nice place to visit Zellies has some very friendly people and some ok food.
Nothing fantastic, but ok food at ok prices, if you can ignore the smell of beer. [10 Apr 2005 17:55:09]

Hit or Miss, But the Best Wings Anywhere Zellie's used to be one of our regular hangouts. It's gone downhill lately, though. The restrooms are filthy and the kitchen doesn't look much better.
The help is often sitting on the porch watching TV and smoking with their friends while tables go unbussed for hours.
There is hardly a spot to get away from the blaring TV's. The live music makes us want to get out of there as soon as we can. It's too loud and has never been very good.
We usually have to ask that our table be wiped (once, a server handed me the towel, like it was my job) and have to ask for all the basics like ashtrays, paper towels, salt and pepper.
The service ranges from excellent to being totally ignored. The grouper wasn't really grouper for the longest time, they recently changed the menu to "Grouper's Little Brother" or something similar to that.
The prices keep rising, it's no longer a good bargain, with the exception of the Happy Hour chicken wings-30 cents each!
Zellies recently refurbished the outside dining area. It looks great, but there is a fire pit full of trash that rather ruins it.
You see a lot of parents getting drunk while their children run wild in the volleyball court.
They've cut costs by using disposable plates, dinnerware and cups.
Business is declining and many a night you wonder if they are even open.
I would suggest giving the inside of the restaurant a good cleaning, keeping the tables bussed and stocked, acknowledging customers when they walk in the door and keeping the employees out of sight when they want to smoke, visit with their friends, or make personal calls on their cell phones.
Many people go to a restaurant to have conversation and really don't want a TV set or a bad band blaring.
Most of the dishes are NOT a good value for the price any longer and the plastic plates, cups, tables and utensils make it look like bowling alley cuisine. [02 Oct 2007 02:49:15]
