The atmosphere of the restaurant is ok but it's no different than most other Chinese restaurants. They have a buffet with a reasonable selection considering the size of the place.
The food, however, is terrible. Most of it tastes like it's the frozen stuff you get at the grocery store. Then it tastes like it was microwaved for too long so it was nice and rubbery. Other food had either very little flavor or was drowned in soy sauce so it was very salty. It was bad enough that we decided we would never go back and we live in Navarre.    [20 Aug 2004 17:06:27]

Worth It
China Cook has been around Navarre for over 10 years, for a reason. While the menu is unexciting and they have expanded to a buffet, you can still order made to order meals which is better than most Asian restaurants in the PNS/FWB/Navarre area. I'm not sure what the previous reviewer's problems were with China Cook, but my family has never had a bad experince or bad meal at the China Cook.    [20 Oct 2006 17:35:22]

Buffet not so hot
The buffet isn't that great.
The price for the buffet is ridiculous compared to what they actually have. When I went there for dinner, the fan was blowing by the food. Most of the food did not taste fresh, like it had been sitting out for hours. There were less than a handful of items that I actually found enjoyable. Perhaps the made to order meals are actually good, but I wouldn't know. Overall, I was not impressed in any sort of way from this place. As I had said before, I cannot comment about the meals made to order but I definitely say save your money for elsewhere if you want to eat at a chinese buffet.    [27 Apr 2007 19:39:01]

We like it and the people who run it
We like China Cook. Their food is not high end but it is good. I wouldn't recommend the buffet, but I am not a buffet person. We like the casual atmosphere and we like the employees. We have never had a bad service and yes the food is simple and typical - it is a nice place to eat or get take out. I would recommend it.    [17 Jul 2007 19:53:34]
